Great location and yes essential stop off when travelling through wales. However I am local and I do tend to go there on more occasions than a stop Off. My last visit was disappointing. The furniture has been changed and now it’s just uncomfortable and uninviting- it’s as though they really want you to have a quick coffee/meal and go!!! Staff weren’t that attentive! It was not busy at all and three staff behind the counter. Still had to stand and wait for our coffee at end of the counter. Even though we said we were staying in we were served our coffee in paper cups!!! It’s expensive to be served in a paper cup- more of a message to please be quick and go!!! The place was untidy and needed a good clean. The bay where you collect spoons and serviettes etc was disgusting. Needed a real good clean. Tables hadn’t been wiped down. I repeat it was not busy- there were probably four tables of two! It’s a pitty as it’s been very different when I’ve been before. I’ll think twice about going again. They’re lucky they will have a captured audience being on a travelling route next to a garage! Cmon think about customer service- how would you like to be served an expensive coffee on your only day off when meeting a good friend!!...
Read moreJust been to Dolgellau Wales to be greeted by an enthusiastic young man who took my order for 2 lattes both with 2 sugars please... to then be handed 2 lattes by young lady who had clearly had enough by 10:30am.. asked if there were sugars in as didn't see her put any in to be glared at and given a grunt so asked again if there were sugars in to which I now got a shake of the head so asked if I could have some as the normal sugar stations are understandably out of action, got some form of a response but through the masks and plastic screen couldn't make out what she was saying so asked again could I have sugar, a reasonable request I thought as I'd already covered this stage with initial young man at till. Turns out she was asking me how many I wanted and that it was very obviously all my fault that this stage had failed. Why have someone on the till asking this question if it doesn't result in the drink you requested? Will be buying my coffees from the petrol station next door from now on where it tastes perfectly fine, costs nearly half as much but more importantly comes with a lot less...
Read moreEdit: I often think back to the situation below and wonder if the staff would apologise now, especially given how much people’s views around COVID have changed.
I would recommend that the staff stop trying to police their customers. When I visited I was "served" by two blonde ladies. After being ignored for 5 minutes at the till, the lady asked if I had a mask. In which I replied that I'm exempt, but i have left my badge at home. Instead of being understanding, she was abrupt and told me that they where going to refuse to serve me.
I asked if she had a mask so I could get served as I was buying water for my daughter as she was hot and bothered. Otherwise I would have took my business elsewhere. I'm exempt because of my ptsd and anxiety issues, but I felt forced to because of the hostility from your staff.
I'm unsure of your policies, but this is discrimination and I hope your staff don't do this to all...
