The Acton Park — Restaurant in Wales

Visited the Acton on 1st March for my friends hen party. We opened a tab to make things easier at the end. I looked on my phone and noticed I had a voucher for the wine club. I asked the server what was included in the wine club offer. She's asked to see the voucher to check the T&Cs to confirm which wine was included in the offer. She let me know which one and we ordered. Upon paying our bill, I present my voucher and they tried and tried to process it but must have been coming back with an error. The manager (pressuming) came over and tried and then went oh, it's only valid on a Thursday and Sunday after 5pm. I advised that the server did ask to see the voucher, he advised if you click on it, it says valid Thursday and Sunday, the T&Cs are different. Not wanting to make a scene as we'd already been there a while with a busy queue, with the staff trying to process the voucher I just paid my bill.

I did email to complain as after going home I looked at the T&Cs and the second sentence before the selection of wines it says that it's only Valid Thursday and Saturday. I got a standard, Sorry not Sorry email. I replied to say that I wasn't happy with the response (blaming me) I'm still waiting for a further repsonse.

Smoking, burning logs outside main front door. Dangerous. Smoky interior due to open fire. No de caf coffee, had to provide my own due to caffeine allergy. Two lasagne ordered. The pasta layers were just like flour and water sludge and inedible on one dish. The other dish was burnt black and stuck to the bottom of the dish. Totally inedible. We were asked if all was ok initially but we were both only eating the salad at that time. Black coffee for my friend was served with milk! and we had to ask for the cup to be topped up with water as it was only half full. When we complained about the lasagne, we we asked if we would like a refund or a desert, no apology, just an explanation as to the fact that the lasagne does come served like this sometimes and they could not understand why. I had come out having no breakfast, looking forward to enjoying a meal out with friends who we meet up with just 3 times a year. This was a total disappointment and we did not enjoy our visit at all. Waited almost an hour for food to come to the table after ordering at the bar.. Four people in all..first two plates come and then the second two five minutes later.. Two three meats dinner and a beef dinner along with the maple burger.. Firstly it was cold.. Luke warm at best.. The beef was tough and the burger was over cooked and burnt.. Surprised any chef with half of pride would send out food of this quality.. Honestly the worst food I have ever had to pay good money for.. Only reason for the one star rating is because the guy behind the bar who took the drinks order was a nice fella.. My wife recommended coming here as she had a meal here with some friends two weeks previously and she was so impressed she asked her mother and father to join us.. Sadly she was embarrassed on this occasion as her father paid for the food.. Not sure why... our experience was so different to a couple of weeks previously.. I'm guessing the chef was off on this visit 😕... Unfortunately would not return..as they say.. Once bitten...
