Outrageous rip off! The Beach Hut has the monopoly on take away food in Llangrannog, there are few other options to get food other than a pizza place and the pub (if they’re serving food which they weren’t when we visited). There is no justification for the meagre potion sizes / extortionate prices charged. We paid £7.50 for an adult meal of chicken goujons and chips - we were given three minute pieces of breaded chicken and a small box of chips. I queried whether this was a mistake as we’d also ordered a child’s version of the same meal for £5.50 - I was informed that no, it was not at an error - the child’s meal consisted of one chicken goujon. My partner ordered a very fancy sounding spicy fish burger - £8.50 and it was no more than a bog standard Captain Birdseye battered bit of fish in a bap. Fifty minutes we waited for this diabolical meal, the staff rolled their eyes when I questioned what we’d received (and seemed more concerned about the espresso martinis lined up on the counter). I would advise anyone considering eating here to just make sure they have back up snacks in...
Read moreWe have been coming to Llangrannog for 19 years on and off and our kids always loved this place. Since 2002, the Beach Hut Team has established a top restaurant-café.
Whether you want an amazing breakfast, a takeaway, a bistro dine-in with a glass of wine, or traditional seaside fish and chips, the Beach Hut has everything. On 08-Jun, we enjoyed a Cajun Fiery Fish Bun with seaweed spiced batter, a choice of skinny French fries or English chunky chips and a dressed green salad.
The coffee was superb, freshly ground and we found the black Americanos passed the test with perfection... crisp, clear and full of punch.
Open more or less all year round with some opening restrictions in winter, the Beach Hut caters for everyone... families, bucket and spaders, walkers, newspaper readers... and of course, die-hard surfers and bodyboarders.
We were last year in November when bizarrely the sea was as warm as it is in June... a regular thing in Cardigan Bay! So we are hoping to be back later this year... keep doing...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience at Beach Hut. I ordered chips and beers, and ended up waiting a long time at the table without any drinks, while people who had ordered after me were already being served. Eventually, I had to ask about my order, only to be told they had forgotten the beers altogether.
The chips were absolutely awful – incredibly greasy, soft instead of crispy, and tasted old. Honestly, they were the worst chips I’ve ever had in my life. On top of that, the children’s portions are ridiculously small, especially when it comes to the meat.
To make matters worse, the man serving was unfriendly and clearly doesn’t treat people fairly. I certainly won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this...
