I have never experienced such disgusting customer service in all my life.
At 1310 I ordered a roast beef dinner, with a side of cauliflower cheese, a lemon Fanta and a Kinder Bueno milkshake. On Uber Eats, it’s stated that the delivery time was between 5 and 25 minutes. (Expected at 13:35 latest) 15 minutes into ordering, I had a notification telling me that Bellevue had changed the delivery to 1345-14:05. No problem I know it’s busy on a Sunday. At 1405 my food still hadn’t come, so I rang the pub. The owner told me that it would be there in the next 20 minutes, (delivery at 14:25) total of 1 hour 15 mins. I explained that I had to go to work in the next half an hour as the amended delivery time was supposed to be at 1405.
My order arrived at 1425, the delivery driver handed over my food, and I saw the milkshake and no straw. I asked oh is there any straw for the milkshake? His response was no we don’t give straws out for milkshakes. I was taken aback, but said okay no problem and I shut the door. When I looked closer I had received a tango when I ordered Fanta lemon. I understand you can swap for substitutes but I had no apology for them not giving me what I ordered, also gravy was missing. I open the door and luckily caught the driver who was rolling his eyes, I said sorry but you’ve brought the wrong Karen and the gravy is missing. His response was can’t do anything about it they might have not had it at the pub. At this point I was a bit miffed, so I said okay and shut the door.
I rang the pub and spoke to a lady Who I assume is the owner because your husband is the delivery driver. The woman told me that the delivery driver would not be coming back with the gravy because I spoke to him in a demeaning and derogatory manner. I think this is an absolute joke, I did not raise my voice, I did not swear, and I wasn’t patronising. I was just annoyed that half of my order wasn’t right. When I asked the woman if I was going to be reimbursed for the missing items she said you’re not having your money back and I reported you to Uber eats. At this point I become extremely annoyed as she was patronising me calling me ‘lovely’. I was told never to order from the pub again and not to bring back She then put the phone down on me. I rang back, livid wanting an explanation for why I was being treated like this, I swore once out of anger because of the way I’m being spoken to and then the woman starts having a go saying after you just swore at me I can completely believe that you spoke to my husband the delivery driver in a derogatory and demeaning way.
I will not be ordering from the pub again. I have The conversation recorded, taken photos and sent a report to Uber eats. I I decided to spend my hard earned money at this establishment and this is what I get in return. No apology just rudeness and The feeling of...
Read moreWe arrived at "The Looking Glass" Tredegar to find the Restaurant all shut. Not being from the area we eventually found out that there was another - The Belle Vue Inn - The Looking Glass.
As we were now 22 minutes past our allocated slot we phoned to tell them that we'd gone to the wrong one but we were on our way. We were spoken to by quite an "off" member of staff who told us that they would check if we could still come as we were late. Chef said "yes" but also that we'd create a "back-log" of orders by turning up so food would be slower. No problem we thought, we were excited to visit!
On arrival we did our Track and Trace (information on a notepad with all other patrons names and numbers - not allowed under GDPR) and sat down. The servers were LOVELY, great job, professional and friendly.
The dining room didn't have much of a theme but drinks came quickly and starters too. We then proceeded to wait two hours for our mains before calling it a day as we had to get back home.
Such a shame, when we asked about our food we were told that because we arrived late food was going to be late. The way we felt was that we were being punished for being late, but not from the area and not told whilst booking to be careful to come to the right Looking Glass. There was another couple looking for the place when we went in to town, only for us to see them at the other one when we arrived.
I understand we were late but don't understand why that pushed our food back, our orders were given before hand and I don't see why any Chef cannot cope with guests not being there at a certain time. I dread to think what will happen outside of Covid when capacity is higher, people can come and go at any time and order anything they want without bracing the kitchen a few days before. Won't go again and from our experience...
Read moreWe booked for Sunday lunch to celebrate 3 birthdays, there were 9 of us, a 3year old and 8 adults one of the adults is autistic. We all ordered at the same time 4 dinners arrived these were luke warm, the other dinners arrived later piping hot, the 3year old's plate and food were so hot it had to be put aside to cool. The cauliflower cheese that I had ordered as an extra arrived after I had eaten over half of my dinner.||||Dinner over we ordered desserts, while we waited I took a sip of my drink, thought I had ice in my mouth but very quickly realised it was a sliver of glass, a chip from the rim of the glass had come away, I then found another sliver inside my cheek. This was reported to the waitress so when the owner came out of the kitchen I thought she had come to investigate, apparently not. When I asked her had she been told about the incident her reply was 'these things happen', no apology, I again tried to explain how dangerous this was and again she could only say 'these things happen'!||||We waited so long for our desserts our autistic adult had a melt down and had to leave, we were on the verge of asking for the bill and leaving as well when the desserts arrived. I had specifically asked for no chocolate sauce, you've guessed it, yes there was chocolate sauce.||||After the attitude of the owner over the glass we knew it was pointless complaining again so just paid up and left.||||I hope this review puts people off going to the Belle Vue as this is no less than...
