The Belle — Restaurant in Wales

I was staying with friends locally and wanted to treat them to a meal before I came home. I am so glad that they suggested the Belle Vue; small but cosy, and a warm welcome (apart from the old boy at the bar who muttered something obviously uncomplimentary in Welsh when he heard my accent). The Felinfoel was served a bit cold, but the Wine was excellent and the food was just amazing, including the biggest Pork Chop I have ever seen and perfectly cooked Lambs Liver. Dined here on Wednesday evening whilst visiting from Hertfordshire and staying with friends ( ex neighbours) from Cellan who moved to the area 8 years ago. What a find ! Food was fabulous .. Beautifully cooked and the presentation - particularly the Berry Panna Cotta and the Chocolate Torte - was amazing! I don’t normally photograph my food but it needed to be done ! A last minute decision and we had a lovely meal. The pork cutlet with mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and small whole onions was stunning. The very large pork cutlet was so moist and tender, perfect in my book. A large piece of moist salmon on a bed of red cabbage with basil and tomato butter was really tasty.
