One night stay with continental breakfast included. Very modern and clean room.King size bed was really comfy. Plenty to choose from if you want a drink in your room. Little noise from people in the next room who were unable to close the door quietly. No noise from the pub below. Breakfast, which was continental, was lovely. Again, there was plenty of choice of cereals, fruit breads, crumpets, jams/marmalade juices.Drinks machine, which gave you a good choice of drinks.Plus nice big cups instead of silly little cups you carnt get a decent drink in. By far, a very nice little pub with lovely spacious rooms. Parking is across the road behind the Spar shop. Not very far. The only downside was that we looked at the menu prior to going down to the pub only to find out they have a new chef and they haven't updated the website, so it was completely different. Wanted a burger, and to be fair, they did sort one out for us both, but it just lacked a few trimmings like a slice of tomatoe bit of coleslaw an onion ring maybe? Burger few chips bit of salad. Tasted nice. We would have stayed in the bar a lot longer but was made to feel like we weren't welcome by a few of the regulars. Think they may have been upset at Wales getting the wooden spoon after losing earlier on in the day. England playing France, and every time they went past us, they made derogatory comments about England just loud enough for us to hear. Like banter ,and we wete looking forward to watching the game. I support all teams as I live in England. As they were obviously supporting France and had made the earlier comments, we didn't feel like we could enjoy the game in the bar. Yes, this is probably an isolated incident, but it did make us feel uncomfortable. If we choose to go there again, we will make sure there isn't any rugby on.

Stopped here for an evening meal after a day out. They managed to fit us in on a bank holiday fab! Upon first impressions the pub appeared very cosy with a country village pub vibe. This was nice, upon entering the dining area we were greeted by the feel of a very cosy country room with very little noise. It was a nice atmosphere. The lovely staff members who where attentive to us all evening presented us with menus. I expected a classic pub menu, I was very wrong. The menu was a vast range of top meal options such as salmon, King prawns, Wellington absolutely fabulous for choice. The food arrived and as pictured I was absolutely blown away by the fantastic presentation and the quality was top notch. We were SUPER impressed by the food and service from this very traditional looking place. This is easily better than some of the top chain restaurants that I have visited and certainly had a fantastic team. Thank you.

Staying just a minute walk from here on holiday this week, I booked a while ago for Sunday dinner today. We were a party of 3 and were seated in the restaurant, got our drinks from the bar and were directed to our table. Service spot on, the young lad at the bar was friendly we ordered 3 beef dinners, a side of cauliflower cheese and an extra jug of gravy, the food arrived after only a short wait and was piping hot, the beef was cooked well done but also super tender which is impressive, plenty of veg, lots of gravy (we ordered extra but could have managed without but it was delicious) the cauliflower cheese was yummy, super cheesy. We also had a coke, cider and a bottle of Sauvignon blanc and the bill was around 65 pounds. It was worth every penny. Hoping to visit again later in the week, real gem of a place.

Everyone should avoid this pub. I would be giving it MINUS TEN stars if I could. I will list all the negatives: the front of the pub is busy with drunken yobs smoking and acting aggressively. there is no car parking. you can't access the bar as that area is also too busy with drunken louts. the moment you walk through the door you are made to feel incredibly unwelcome with all the locals staring at you. the pub is unclean and has an unpleasant odour. the menu choice is very limited and not the same as advertised online. the waitress did not know what ale was when I asked for a pint of ale. the chicken burgers were like rustlers microwave burgers. the chicken mozzarella dish is basically a chicken soup, it is so watery and the potatoes were so hard they almost broke the knife. the waitress was clueless when we complained and didn't know how to handle it. an extra meal was added to the final bill 'by mistake'. when paying, the card machine was unable to reach to the table so we all had to go as close to the main bar as we could get in order for the wifi signal to work, this was in the middle of the drunken locals. one of our party was kicked by someone in the bar with no apology. the locals confronted me outside the toilets in an aggressive manner to try and provoke a reaction. the owners/bar staff do nothing to control their customers and even seem to encourage anti social behaviour. the food is not good value for money, very overpriced and lacking in quality.

You might be wondering after all that why we chose to eat here. We were staying nearby in a holiday home and unfortunately this was the only pub in the area that was open and able to accommodate a party of ten. It is a huge regret that we didn't turn around and go elsewhere when we saw the scene at the front of the pub. The photos and online reviews* of this pub are incredibly misleading.

If you want to eat disgusting tasteless food, receive shocking service and be made to feel generally unsafe and unwelcome, then I highly recommend visiting this establishment.

Otherwise, avoid at all costs.

I can only assume the positive online reviews are written by heavily biased village locals or friends...
