We were a party of 9 having dinner, prebooked and was recommended to eat here, the pub is lovely and the staff were accommodating but the food was not very good especially for the money. So I can only speak for what we ordered, the children's meal of fish and chips was lovely but was a large portion for a child, the Woodfired pizza was really good too. Now for the negatives, we had for starters, hommous and camembert both served with foccasia bread. The taste of both dishes were lovely but no accompaniments with the camembert, no chutney so didn't look very appealing. The foccasia bread was 4 small slices grilled until solid, literally you need good teeth to eat it and mine was burnt so bad it had be sent back. I asked for some soft bread instead and was told we only do rustic bread, it would be good for an apocalypse the bread they original served. I asked could I have the bread untoasted, and was served beautiful soft warm focassia which my partner enjoyed too lol. Next we had the pork dish which was in a teriyaki sauce, wow this will blow your taste buds, the pork was cooked beautifully but the sauce was reduced so much it was like eating marmite it was that strong, tbh my dad left half of his as he said the flavour spoilt the dish and after trying it, I had too giggle it was that awful. Now the mains, the ceasar salad I had with extra twice cooked chips. Well the chips were frozen chunky chips fried, nothing special but thank god I ordered them as you would be left hungry if your just having the ceasar salad for dinner. 3 lettuce leaves, 2 cherry tomatoes chopped in quarters a steamed chicken breast cubed and smothered in ceasar dressing and a quater slice of bacon chopped on top, it was so basic at £21 all served on a side plate. No extra parmesan as it was in the sauce as I was informed, by this point I'm just laughing as the food was that bad, could it get any worse lol yessss...we ordered 4 sirloin steaks at £26 each, sauces were extra and onion rings were extra. They were cooked exactly to everyone's preference but they were tough, watching my partner struggle to cut it (his was rare), he cut into his and no juice, blood, nothing, I was like what??? my nephew choked twice on his and we asked the server where they got there steaks from and they couldn't say. My dad said 'which old bull did this steak come from?' When asked if it was OK we were laughing. The steak is served with chips a flat mushroom and half a tomato so my partner who had onion rings (4 small) and garlic and mushroom sauce as extra cost nearly £35. We decided not to have desserts. The bill was just under £300 for the 9 of us and drinks bill was around £100, the drinks were reasonably priced the food however for what we had, they need to fire the chef.... or they may not have one as someone who was in the kitchen really need cookery lessons, truly avoid until the food is...

We recently visited this pub following its change of ownership, and what a transformation. Pat and her team have breathed new life into the place, creating a genuinely welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel looked after from the moment you walk in.
The service was spot-onāattentive without being overbearing, and clearly passionate about making every guest feel at home. The food? Outstanding. I had the steak and ale pie, and I donāt say this lightly: it was one of the best pies Iāve ever had. Rich, hearty filling wrapped in perfectly flaky pastry. The fries were a revelationāsingle fried, yet somehow tasted like the triple-cooked kind youād expect from a high-end bistro. Crispy, golden, and addictive.
The venue itself is a treat. The beer garden is spacious and beautifully kept, ideal for sunny afternoons. And for those unpredictable British weather days, the wooden pods are a brilliant touchācosy, private, and comfortably seat eight. Great for groups or just a snug pint with friends.
Whether you're popping in for a meal or looking for a relaxed spot to unwind, this pub is well worth a visit. Pat and her team have created something special hereāand it shows in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe have been to The Bush Inn many times over the years but this Sunday was by far the worst Sunday Roast we've had in ages. Firstly the team separated our party without us knowing which left another family angry as they were table-less. I had to search the other side of the restaurant for my family. From sitting down altogether at 2pm we didn't see a starter until 3:10pm (!). Starter were lovely though i must say, we had the Filo prawns and chorizo bon bons. The kids meals were lovely also and came out with starters which was thoughtful and kept them happy. When it came to the adults roasts then, my pork belly was gorgeous, succulent and crispy on the edges. The other 5 adults all had beef .... inedible. The family don't like to complain and make a fuss but i decided to explain to one of the servers that the beef was so dry and chewy he asked if they could do anything but the kids at finished at this point and we were almost done (other than the meat) so they brought out 5 rounds of pork belly - random but thoughtful i guess... and to top it off they don;t serve a cauliflower cheese (what the actual...?). love the atmosphere in The Bush Inn and we so love to go there but that was really...
