An amazing find. Many years ago we tried the pub opposite and were shocked at the appalling customer service we received. We decided to give it another try today in the hope that the old land lady had retired but upon arrival we were bluntly informed that they were not opening for another half an hour despite Google listing their opening times as 12. On walking back to the car we noticed another pub across the road and decided to give it a try. This turned out to be the correct decision. The Butchers is run by a very freindly land lady that greeted us and showed us to our table. Her staff promptly took our order and drinks arrived in minutes. When taking our food order the waitress was accompanied by another employee on her first day learning the ropes. The service we received from these two young ladies was exemplary and a credit to the land lady. We will certainly be visiting again and will recommend it to all of...

Visited last night to have dinner and had a great meal!

The pub was quiet and traditional but not intimidating. There were plenty of drinks on offer as well as a good selection of beers.

The dinner menu had a good selection of options without being overly long. I opted for the sirloin steak and it was delicious especially with the garlic mushroom sauce.

The usual children's dishes were on offer so if you have little ones you should be able to find something they will like.

Desert consisted of ice cream for the little one, sticky toffee pudding for me and cheesecake for my other guests. It was all delicious and we all had clean plates.

So if you are in the area looking for a great little quiet pub to grab a delicious, afforadable dinner then I highly recommend...

Food was atrocious, ordered creamy garlic mushrooms on a bed of toast, got mushrooms in what looked like gravy on a warm medium slice of brown bread, gets much worse. The main I ordered the butchers special, 8oz gammon with sausages chips onion rings & peas, the gammon wasn't cooked properly there was more fat than meat trying to cut it was like trying to cut a elastic band the single small sausage had gone off it tasted sweet the onion rings tasted fishy & the chips were no better cooked in old oil, the peas were the best thing on my plate very very disappointed paid restaurant prices for not even good pub food needless to say won't be visiting this place again £57.45 for food I wouldn't feed my dog. You have been...

Lovely place is definitely worth a visit. With its original woden beams made you feel welcome. We had a great time the staff were fantastic, very attentive. The Food was excellent. Curry had lots of flavour with a little kick. The steak and ale pie was delicious and plenty of it. The lasagna was also delicious with that real Italian taste. As for the fish, what can I say absolutely no bones. The batter was crispy and light, a clean meal, meaning hardy any grease. Puddings kept the ladies quiet, so it must be really good. Thank you all for a lovely evening. We will be back for more.
