Woke up today feeling grim with a cold and craving the kind of food only a nan would make if she could swoop in with the dinner. My partner did a quick Google search, rang this place, and—fifteen minutes later—our Sunday roasts were ready to be picked up. Fifteen. Minutes. That’s faster than I can decide what to watch on Netflix. Now, cards on the table: I don’t like turkey. But I dislike beef even more, so turkey it was… and honestly? I’m eating my words (along with the turkey). It was cooked to perfection—juicy, tender, full of flavour. I only needed the tiniest pinch of salt to taste, which is rare for me because I usually season like a pirate. The roast potatoes? Crispy on the outside, fluffy clouds inside. Veggies and gravy ratio? Perfectly balanced—everything had its place, nothing swimming, nothing sad. Dessert was apple & blackberry crumble with custard, and let me tell you—it didn’t just hit the spot, it built a five-star hotel there. The tart fruit, sweet crumble topping, and silky custard worked together like a well-rehearsed band. I was enjoying it so much I didn’t even get a photo. It disappeared faster than a cat spotting an open tin of fish. The portions were enormous. We’re not really “Sunday roast people,” but here we are, both in a happy food coma, staring at each other like, yep, worth it. If you want generous portions, food that tastes like comfort and care, service quicker than your cravings, and prices that won’t make your wallet cry this is your place. We’ll definitely be back (cold or no cold).

Used their website to book at short notice, the morning of the booking, & it was answered promptly. We ate in the bar as we had our dog with us. We enjoyed a Sunday Lunch, one beef & one turkey, served with a generous selection of vegetables. Our meals were served promptly & courteously, staff were attentive but not intrusive. Quantity was so good we had enough left overs for our dog to enjoy later. We finished our meal with a shared apple & strawberry crumble smothered in custard. A most enjoyable meal.

In a word excellent.....

Staying in Fishguard and unable to get a pub/restaurant booking for a Saturday night for love nor money. Turned to Google and found this pub, about 15 to 20 minutes outside Fishguard along the A40, booked a table.

Food was all homemade, I had a steak and kidney pie, which was superb, followed by a homemade (no apologise for repeating homemade) strawberry cheesecake, which was great. My wife had a chicken and leek pie (guess we were on the same food wavelength!!) which i was informed was also excellent. Veg with meal was varied and all cooked to perfection.

We also noted that for a pub there was a good number of vegetarian dishes.

(Just a quick word on Covid measures - felt 100% safe, you are met at the door and shown to your table, staff all wearing masks, we saw tables being sanitised after people left.)

As well as the above the staff were welcoming and friendly, atmosphere relaxed.

All in all if you are staying in Fishguard and want a great pub with excellent food this should be your first choice; if you want to drink, get a taxi there and back, you...

The gentleman who served us was very attentive, food was absolutely fantastic and good portion sizes. We had a fabulous garlic mushrooms and mozzarella sticks for our starter which was perfect and then beef chilli and homemade faggotts, both served with fabulous chips and all was very delicious. Unfortunately after that we didn't have room for desert but we will definitely be returning and having a taste of their deserts. Excellent choice on menu and very reasonable priceing. If I was to be critical and this would be a personal preference then maybe a little background music would be the...
