Whilst driving our many hours journey home we found ourselves hungry. So googled a good place to eat. Well this came up and my golly I'm so glad we went! The food was excellent, filling and overall amazing. Hats off the the chef! When we arrived for opening time we managed to get squeezed in for an hour slot and was told to order our starters and mains together as they didn't really have the space for us as the table we was on was for a party that was due to arrive at 6pm (hence why they squeezed us in) but that really didn't bother us as we was starving anyway and knew what we wanted at first glance of the menu. They took my shellfish allergy seriously and the waiter doubled checked I was ok to order my chicken dish even asking if I needed to make sure it wasn't fried in the same oil as anything else. Tbh the chef would know never to cook any dish that has been contaminated with any crustacean foods if any allergy has been reported.

Anyway when all the food came out the portion sizes was infact huge! One bowl of rice and one main could feed two people. As a family of 4 we ordered 2 rice bowls, 3 mains and 2 starters. We infact took one rice home as the kids couldn't finish it and one of the kids only ate half of his main too.

The only slight eh was once the food came out we was kinda ignored. My husband had to ask 4 times for a drink. 1 waiter took the order then disappeared to take the order of a large group next to us, thus forgetting about the drink, the next 3 times was with another waiter who had to asked about the drink and didn't return for a fair few minutes (around 5) then they checked again but unfortunately by the 4th time the poor waiter just got the drink order again and by this time my husband had nearly finished his food. Other than this hic up I really would come back when I'm next driving down. The food really is that good that it oversees the service that...

In the area with work and heard good things about dragon palace. Went for the take away and was there before it opened. Take away area was interesting, clean, well themed and fun. Staff were extremely pleasant and a joy. Was expecting a wait as we were the second people through the door after opening and imagined everything being cooked at that time, however, food came super quick and don't worry, yes, it was freshly cooked. The food when ready was also brought out to where we were waiting and handed to us with a thank you, not shouted from behind a counter for us to collect. Also, considering we had a fair drive to get back to our digs, the food was still piping hot at serving. Food was flavourful and tasty. The curry had a bit more of a kick in the aftertaste than my regular favourite Chinese take aways food, but that was OK. The sweet and sour chicken balls were smaller than I'd seen anywhere else but there was more of them and they were well cooked with a delightfully crispy exterior. On the whole, I would definitely recommend and visit again if I'm in the area. Just as a comparison, earlier in the trip I went into another Chinese take away in Whitland just for some chips to have with a meal we were making and it was a totally different experience. The place did not seem clean and when I handed money over the hand that was outstretched to me was covered on grease/oil and I actually paused be for handing over my note as it dawned on me that the same hand was going to be handing me change. The cash register was then spotted with the whole top of it wrapped in cling film to protect it from said oil/grease, which seems like a defeatist attitude to cleanliness! I'm closing... Travel to pentlepoir, don't go to...

I've got to say 3 years ago I would never imagine leaving this review. This Chinese became our favourite. Always our go to take away and we would always recommend it to others. However especially after the revamp of the place it's gone completely down hill. The price for one has just gone up and up (with cost of living we tried to understand and felt it was still worth it) but the quality of food went down with the price rise. I'm a local and I live 5. 3 miles down the road. And the amount they charge for delivery is insane so we've always collected. But on 3 (only 1 they let us pick up instead of losing the order) occasions we've been told we couldn't pick up we HAD to have delivery which was a stupid amount added to our already expensive order so we had to cancel our order. And the final straw is being told that it's going to take 2 hours for a small order. Bet if I had asked for a delivery it would have been about 30 mins wait. The food like I said is OK, but it's no where as good as it used to be, most of the staff are ok one or two have been rude as anything though. Especially the woman who told me I couldnt order a pick up only a delivery but wouldn't actually say why that was the case and then the manager came on the phone apologised and put us down for a pick up. I understand being busy and having alot to cook and do but it feels like they have lost what made this Chinese so great.

Edit: just thought I'd add for reference regarding the delivery price. They wanted to charge £7 and like I said we are 5.3miles away. Our orders are between £30-£40 and then £7 on top for someone to drop it off when we were more then...

Very busy and had a long standing wait. Got seated and waited a while for drinks and a menu which we had asked three times. Menu was sticky so I went to wash my hands but the 2 doors going to the toilet is stupidly very heavy with no warning sign so it closes suddenly and hit my toe. It's left it bleeding and in pain, its also got the blood inside showing. This is really dangerous because if it was fingers they would probably break. The corridor is also small so you have to wait for people. It would be good to have the first door opened with a door stop with a boulder... or replaced with beads/ proper door. Very noisy. Very polite and caring staff. They often check on you. Impressed with the soup, they used REAL crab meat which nobody ever does. It tasted great! The duck was plentiful too. They gave really cute hand wipes at the end that I kept instead because they're too pretty to use.

The main eating area is a fairly large square shaped room. There are quite a few large round tables which is good when there's a large group of people eating together. This was my first visit to the restaurant the premises looked quite cottagee from the outside so I was a bit disappointed with this large square room which didn't have much of an atmosphere. There was a wall speaker which was blaring out rather loud contemporary music. I'm not that sure many people really want to sit eating a meal and listening to music. the restaurant was busy but the staff were very efficient and they quickly came and took our order and 10-minutes later we were being served with our main course. The portions were really big and the food was very tasty, really nice. The staff were all very friendly. I'd certainly eat here again.

Booked for 7 pm, arrived on time, and greeted very quickly. Staff very friendly and obliging. Shown to our table straight away. Lots of people eating and enjoying their food. The food was ordered and was about 15min (maybe less) before it came out. Hubby had a chicken noodle soup (was gorgeous, his words) to start, then the mains arrived. We decided to share what came out. special curry, egg fried rice, special chowmein, pork battered balls. Very filling & tasty food. Definitely 1 portion size of each is generous enough to feed 2 people. So we shared everything on the plates. Photos were taken as we were eating. Definitely go back again, just wish it was closer to where we lived (then again, maybe that's a blessing its not lol)
