Disappointed vist with my my family on Easter Sunday. We were shown to our table for 8 people. The tables were in a small booth with 2 separate tables therefore could not have a proper family gathering. No explanation was provided considering we booked for 8 people. The meal was average and overpriced. My sons 3 roast potatoes were black and hard and inedible. My husbands the same. Parsnips were hard. Gravy was limited. Food was average, but the price wasn't.
After explaining our thoughts to the manager the response was 'There is nothing we can do!' 'Did you complain to the waiter'
We explained the waitress did not ask if everything was OK?, is the Food OK?
He replied with the staff are told not to ask that question!!!
Very very odd 🤔 No apology, nothing. Rude in fact.
Will not be returning.
If the restaurant has only been opened 2 weeks, why is The Druid not doing everything to please and keep customers surely they would want all feedback.
Oh and to end it all. I put a disappointed comment on Facebook only to find later on that day I have been BLOCKED from the...
Read moreThe Druids was a local of ours before the new refurb and my family and I were very much looking forward to the opening this year, counting down the days in fact.
Sadly, after a couple of visits since the opening, we won't be returning. The overpriced food and ale is something we can put up with, however rude and arrogant staff is not. After waiting 10 minutes, paitently at an empty bar to be served, we were greeted by a young tall, thin lad, with dark permed hair with nothing but attitude. We asked for a pint and his reply was 'No!' We were so shocked. My partner responded 'Ok!, we will go somewhere else' To which he replied 'Okay, I don't need your custom, I get plenty of customers here'
We were disgusted, we couldn't believe it. Since this, we have spoken with other locals who have experienced similar problems with the staff.
Such a shame, because it was such a great local pub. From now on, I'll be spending my money in the other new refurbished pubs, The Picadilly and The Penant, where the staff can't be...
Read moreI'm fairly sure we were unlucky but the service was really slow and not very organised. The food was fantastic, decent portions, very tasty and a nice range of options (I'm often suspicious of long menus but what we chose was all fresh and well-presented). We went on a day that most other pubs locally were not open for lunch, they had a large walking party and mentioned they had had some staff call in sick. We had booked a table which was fortunate as it was very busy, but we were then forgotten completely. It wasn't until over half an hour later when they seated another table next to us and proceeded to take their order that we politely asked when they might take ours. We seemed to drop off their radar completely again after that which was a shame, though the two more senior staff were very helpful and did make sure we got our food. Hopefully this was a blip.
It was also very dog-friendly, which is great if you have one but I would genuinely avoid this if you have a fear of or allergy to dogs, it was...
