So, I popped in here on a whim, I was working in the area and decided to grab myself a nice lunch.

Nearest pub to where I was working was this quaint little place. Inside looks really nice, clean and even has an old style area with slate/wood flooring (the original building) which is gorgeous to sit in.

So, let's talk about the food. Now I wasn't expecting much from a place in the middle of Rhymney with no prior recommendations to go off. But man I was blown away, the food here is absolutely stunning! I ordered the steak Cabattia which comes served with cheese, lettuce and caramelised red onions with a side of house fries, all I can say was it was cooked to perfection! The chef had his temperatures perfect, the steak was gorgeously medium, the fries were crispy and deliciously seasoned and portion size was perfect for the size of the meal.

I later learnt from a staff member who served me that the chef is only 25, he has a real talent for cooking and if you get the chance, pop into this little pub, even if it's just to try the food he cooks. The staff are chatty and vibrant, the chef definitely knows how to cook and the menu is full of mouth watering meals to chose from.

And if you want to enjoy a drink then their alcohol and soft drink selection is pretty vast!

I'd like to extend my thanks to the staff for such a wonderful service which made my day just a little bit brighter, and I'd like to extend my thanks to the chef for a lunch that was full of flavour and comparable to what I'd expect out of a 5 star restaurant.

I will be making this a...

Was really excited about going for the meal at the farmers arms rhymney to celebrate with a lot of family for a gender reveal for my daughter we was told the bar would be open in the room we had booked for the occasssion which it wasn't so we all had to b going outside to get into the other bar not a good start the food was cold (not the chefs fault it was cooked beautifully )It was the two girls they had serving really slow really grumpy and quite rude had to wait a long time inbetween courses . my partner and two adult children waited 15minutes after every one else's food was served they had the chicken curry rice chips and naan bread only no naan bread.. no starters by the way then came desert another 20mins waiting after everyone else's only to be told they had to go to the shop they had run out of ice cream so that was that ...then to be charged £21.50 each for the curry and ice cream needless to say I won't b returning and don't think any of the...

We came to Wales on holiday and before we came, we looked up roast dinners near where we was staying and The Farmers Arms came up, although it was about a 20 minute drive from where we are staying, we thought we would try it and it didn't disappoint. The food is amazing. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff are really friendly and helpful too. My daughter enjoyed it that much she wanted to come again this evening and yet again the food was outstanding. The Steak and Ale pie was unbelieveable, the steak just melted and i asked for mash instead of chips and they couldn't have been more accomodating. My two kids both had the chicken goujons and chips and in my 8 year old daughters words it was amazing. My 3 year old also ate it all. I would highly recommend The Farmers Arms and when were back on holiday in Wales again we will definately be back. Excellent value for money. ...

Was staying locally last minute and booked Farmers Arms for a mid evening dinner. Arrived late and had a little trepidation about the vicinity. Parked on the road easily however. Greeted warmly by staff and went to restaurant area of which there are two, and chose a table. Menus are on their website, not printed. Love this!! Plenty of choice on draught and even some cocktails!! Garlic mushrooms were delicious, burger was one of the best I’ve ever eaten and I’ve had a quite a few!! Apparently the pies are the best!! Sadly no room for dessert. This place is a hidden gem, don’t judge a book by its cover :0)

I booked an area for 14, for Sunday lunch via Facebook messenger. There was plenty of on street parking and a friendly welcome. All the preordered meals were served correct, warm, with a selection of vegetables. Every single person raved about their choice and I got to take our leftover beef (very generous portions) for my greyhound Lily..... her eyes are the best review anyone could have! We are all family based in Monmouth, Cardiff, Blackwood & Abertillery and the location was great for us all.

We came with five people. The food was absolutely exceptional, each dish bursting with flavor and served very quick. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the staff. Despite being understaffed, every member of the team was incredibly friendly and attentive. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable dining experience, and their warm hospitality did not go unnoticed. It’s rare to find such a perfect combination of good food and genuinely caring service.
