Leading up to a couple of Sundays ago, I had consistently enjoyed the excellent food and friendly customer service whenever I attended with my family. We visit our close friends intermittently on the weekends, and sometimes we book a table for lunch. On this particular occasion, towards the conclusion of our meal, I was "seemingly' and indirectly caught in the crossfire of a conversation that was in relation to my ethnicity. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable, to which I eventually brought it to the attention of the owner (although I later understood it to be a coincidence). I want to stress that it was not a member of staff, and to the owner's credit an apology was given prior to myself leaving. I'm not part of this "Woke" generation, and the last time I heard this particular chosen phrase was in my early 20s (I'm 50). It dawned on me that this individual was a person who simply didn't realise that the phrase was no longer user-friendly in these times. I hope my constructive feedback offered at the time would open the owner's "nearest audience's eyes" to the diverse customers who will continue to walk through your doors, and perhaps some awareness might be brought into...

Staying locally in a cottage at Brechfa Forest Barns this week Mon 20th Jan - Fri. After a superb evening meal at the Forest Arms, very reasonably priced on our day of arrival we decided we weren’t cooking at all this holiday once we found out they also served breakfast from 10am. Plenty to choose from on the menu to try different meals each day. Can definitely recommend the full Welsh breakfast to set you up for the day and we have booked to secure a table at 6pm each day to round our day off. We haven’t been disappointed at all as all our meals have been delicious, served hot and well presented. Friendly welcoming staff and our dog is welcome too in an allocated area for dogs. The Forest Arms is warm and cosy in the middle of January and eating at this little gem has made our holiday. We have our hosts at Brechfa Forest Barns to thank for making us aware of the Forest Arms. This is our first visit to South West Wales and we will...

We booked in for a Christmas meal, which we confirmed a few times during the week. On the day of our 'booking' we received a call to confirm 'our booking' for the following evening. It was slightly disappointing as we'd confirmed the booking ourselves several times. On arrival the establishment is lovely, limited parking but very pretty. Inside is quite a rustic setting, and completely stunning. Unfortunately despite us having confirmed the Christmas menu, we found it actually wasn't available. Which was disappointing, but they do offer a good 'standard ' pub menu. This menu is I'd say above standard pub menu, and it was delicious. Good size portions, and friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Warm and intimate, good selection of drinks, real ale as well as a couple of Lager options. Staff attentive but not too much, very comfortable and absolutely no rushing. This is our second time here, and very much enjoyed it. We would...

ATMOSPHERE: 10/10 TABLE: 10/10 FOOD: 7/10 PRICE: 5/10 I came here with my family on a Sunday evening. The atmosphere was excellent, not too busy, so we had no trouble hearing eachother. They had a great playlist playing at a low level to fill dead air when everyone is busy eating which really elevated the mood. We had the rump steak, foresters burger, the fishcakes, garden burger and the steak and ale pie. Everyone enjoyed thier meals and the staff were very friendly and polite when taking our order. For dessert we ordered the bread and butter pudding with custard, although it came with the option of icecream or cream as well, and my dad ordered the cheesecake. As you can see, the dish was flooded in custard (which was great for us but might be something to note) and overall I found it to be slightly underwhelming for £7. Overall, we had a great experience :) Thank you for taking the time to read this review!

We were stationed here twice for 3 nights at a time, so I decided to order a different dish every evening. A lot of the dishes come with chips. Luckily for them, they're amazing chips. The steak, steak pie, lasagne, curry, burger, Christmas dinner, breakfast, and desserts were all top drawer. I demolished that steak. Look at how proper that steak pie is! Stop doing such a good Lasagne. Why is that curry just so lovely? Why is that kinda half sourdough, half ciabatta burger bun the best i've had in my life? Portions are big, welcome to farmer country. Real thick bacon, wonderful sausages, proper bread, I miss this place already. We got along well with our hosts who were overall fantastic. The place is beautiful. Rooms are perfect.

We visited the Forest Arms for the first time today. It is a beautiful country pub in a lovely area. The ambiance was very pleasant and we received a warm welcome. There was an excellent selection on the menu and we chose the Steak and Ale Pie and the Gammon. Both meals were very well presented, a good quantity and were truly superb, I would go as far as saying it was the best Steak and Ale pie I have ever had. The deserts, Eaton Mess, and Baileys and Chocolate Cheese Cake, we equally excellent. It was also good value, being very reasonably priced. I would very highly recommend the Forest Arms, which is by far, the best eatery I have visited in the area.
