Wow, what an incredible find.

We were in the area yesterday for my Fiancé’s birthday. We knew in advance that we would be looking for ‘pub grub’ and decided to take the drive out to The Fox & Hounds based on good reviews.

We were greeted immediately upon entering and sat next to a warm log burner which was welcome given the weather outside. We both had starters, the pork belly bao buns were incredibly good and my partner thoroughly enjoyed the salt and pepper chicken tenders.

My partner opted for the fish and chips which she described as near perfect, her only ‘complaint’ was regarding the mushy peas which she described as ‘minty’.

I had the house special burger which was southern fried chicken, hash brown, cheese and gravy. Without doubt, one of the best burgers I have ever eaten, absolutely delicious.

The chips on both mains were very good and the side of cheesy garlic bread is the best that we have encountered, with a hint of either smoked cheddar or truffle infused cheddar( I think).

We both couldn’t leave without desert, opting for the cheesecake of the day and a brookie, both were an excellent way to end a splendid meal.

If you’re ever in the area visiting the national botanic gardens, take the drive to get lunch/dinner here. The icing on the cake is that it is an...

Highly recommend this lovely little inn. Being refurbished so not taking overnight stays yet but the food was bliddy amazing! It's so hard to find a meal at certain times of the day in Wales so we did a quick turn around when we saw the sign for the fox and hounds on the main road. Me and Cait had the chicken fajitas, clearly all freshly prepped and cooked by the chef, John had fish and chips which looked amazing and tasted it too apparently. There was so much food we were all stuffed. We had a glass of madri beer too, all good. Staff were extra friendly, lovely young people working behind the bar. And the dog was allowed in the bar but not the restaurant. Didn't matter cos you can eat in the bar. The restaurant looked very nice and the facilities were all good too. Obviously popular with the locals. Seriously , if you're in that area that's the place to eat for sure....

Just come back from a lovely Valentine's lunch at The Fox & Hounds. Prawn cocktail and Cajun chicken skewers to start.prawn cocktail....excellent. lots of prawns ,lovely fresh baby leaves and a whole sluce of brown bread and butter.more like a light meal than a starter. Cajun chicken skewers...Wow so much meat for a starter ! We both had the homemade beef lasagne.lovely flavour and definately home made ! I had jacket potatoe with mine, this was the only thing that let it down .Husband had home cooked chips which were delicious (yes I nicked a couple). All in all great food .very friendly service.large portion sizes.best of all.....if your a dog lover....they are DOG FRIENDLY !đŸŸđŸ¶ 2x starters 2x mains round of drinks ÂŁ39. You have to order and eat in the bar area but it beats sitting outside with your pooches! Well done Fox&Hounds ...You are...

Tastiest meal I've had in ages. Portions are huge though so I couldn't finish everything. The pulled pork bruscetta starter was delicious although could easily be shared as it was large. Really tasty lasagne which would have been plenty on its own! The staff were all brilliant, friendly and attentive. I dont know if the venue is under new management but its a major improvement from when I last visited (around 5 or 6 years ago!).

We dropped in on the off chance of a table and were greeted with a really friendly, warm welcome. Our drinks and food order were taken promptly and a courtesy comment made that the food maybe a little while due to a larger group before us, which wasn't an issue. Lovely food, good portion sizes, nothing too 'in your face' but the option to add to if really hungry! Good value, good cooking and a good place to choose.
