Fantastic!!! After a long walk we had booked a table but we were early and had decided to bring one of our dogs along. No problem quick drink at the bar and we where shown to our table in a very dog friendly part of the pub. This is not a traditional looking pub it's very quirky and has a unique charm about it. We had starters pate and smoked haddock arancini with peas and poached egg. The pate along with bread and chutney was great and my arancini was out of this world one of the nicest starters I've had for a long time. We then had burger and roast beef sirloin both dishes where amazing. All served by very nice friendly happy attentive staff which let's alot of places down but not here. They have a very good and indie selection of beers which is nice to see instead of your usual you know estrella peroni moretti. We have several favourite pubs we visit in cheshire North Wales and wirral this one has most definitely joined that list at the top. Bravo and we'll see you again very soon.

For those of you who havn't been to the Glynne Arms it's well worth the visit. I don't often give 5* but I have also never had a bad meal at the Glynne Arms. There are two sides to the place; the pub, which is dog friendly and is often filled with families from the local area. The resturant side is smart tidy, warm and cosy. Which ever side you choose they are both served by the same great kitchen. The food is amazing and really reasonably price for the quality.

I agree with the other comments regarding the customer service, it was very slow and the staff weren’t very attentive. The roast was nice but not the best, very thin gravy, just boiled veggie and the roasties tasted a bit stale. The beef and yorkshires were lovely however. The starters and dessert were nice (although we had to wait nearly 40 minutes for the dessert). Not sure I’ll be back for a roast anytime soon but I’d love to try dinner one evening!

Our first visit to the Glynne Arms was for Sunday lunch. Our table was for 3 and booked for 1230 via the website, which was all very easy to arrange.

The first thing I must say is how lovely the staff & environment are. The menu is interesting and - refreshingly, not over-priced.

I ordered pork roast, the Hubster asked if he could have a mixed roast (basically all three meats) and Pappy ordered fish and chips (as a 77 year old, a "proper" fish & chip dinner beats a Sunday roast any day of the week 🤣).

As it was a relatively early booking we were the first ones in, so not busy. Our lunch came and they got both mine and the hubsters wrong but they quickly sorted it.

The meat was beautiful and the fish & veg were lovely however the potatoes - both the chips and the roasties were a huge disappointment. The chips looked (and tasted) as though they had been reheated from the day before and the roasties were, well not roasties by any stretch of the imagination.

For the first time ever I decided to order a dessert (a ganache dish), the hubster ordered salted caramel cheesecake & Pappy ordered ice-cream. Neither the ganache nor the cheesecake were "set" so we didn't get a dessert - Pappy enjoyed his ice-cream though 🤣

For any customer this is not good; for a cook (me) and a scratch baker (the Hubster) this is borderline abuse (because we know better than what we were told).

If the person running the kitchen knows the first sitting is 1230 then everything should be ready and "set" for that first sitting and they definitely shouldn't be allowing re-heated chips.

And the consolation for this (they were made aware of the issues)? Pappy's three scoop ice-cream was deducted from our bill.

Despite the food fail we had an enjoyable time; the Hubster and I have decided we're going to try again another time - that's a first for us as we usually never go back when we've had a bad meal so kudos to whoever cooked the roasts, the staff and...

A very disappointing Friday afternoon at the Glynne. We had booked as a treat for our friends but we we're totally embarrassed by the whole experience. The pub was very quiet but we waited far to long for our orders to be taken. We then waited 40 minutes for our food. The children's goujons were totally burnt and my friends burger was cold with a piece of soggy Lettuce on top that had clearly been reheated. We sent them back but the meal replacements had still not arrived by the time we had all finished so they were cancelled. The manager explained they were a chef down. Why weren't we informed about this when placing our order? 4 people in our group had asked for ketchup. One jam jar with a tiny bit of sauce was delivered, no spoon to even get it out. We complained about the meals and as a way of an apology we were offered complementary desserts. We were told not to order the apple pie as it would take 20 minutes so the children ordered the sticky toffee pudding. These took even longer to arrive (30 minutes) and they came out in scolding hot bowls. We were totally shocked that children's desserts had been delivered in these burning hot bowls. None of our party will...

Disappointing. The food was ok but the staff didn't listen. Firstly one of our party asked for pink prosecco they brought white. I had garlic prawns for starters it was literally 3 prawns with full head and tail with a piece of bread i tasted no garlic whatsoever. One of the main meals we asked without gravy and it came with gravy which they apologised for and then we had to wait whilst they did another plate. Another meal we asked for no apple sauce with the pork dinner, it came with apple sauce! I ordered the spinach & ricotta ravioli which was literally just that nothing else! Presentation not very good at all for the price! May I suggest maybe a little side salad with it and maybe a few pine nuts. Definitely not worth the money and neither were the prawns. On a positive note it's a nice place with a lovely decor and very clean. The mains ( apart from mine) were enjoyed apart from the two mistakes. Which were two beef roast dinners a lamb and a pork. Quite well presented too. Desserts were average. So to sum up nice but need to pay more attention to detail and maybe present things better for the prices you...
