We had our wedding at The Goose and Cuckoo and it completely exceeded our expectations. The setting is absolutely unique and beautiful — the perfect backdrop for such a special day. The team went out of their way to make everything run smoothly, and nothing was too much trouble. They were warm, welcoming and incredibly accommodating, even sourcing speciality food for us, which made the day feel even more personal and special.

Whether you’re planning a large or small wedding, or any kind of celebration, we would 100% recommend The Goose and Cuckoo. It’s a hidden gem that delivers not just a venue, but an experience you’ll never forget.

Popped in for a quick pint after hearing there was some live music on and the sun finally made an appearance this Easter Monday.

The drive up? Classic country road chaos—especially if you’re with someone who definitely can’t reverse. But totally worth it.

Proper old-school pub. Loads of charm, super friendly staff, and just a really chilled vibe all round. There’s a little green outside where you can sit and take in the valley views, decent music playing, and to top it off, we even got given a chocolate moose as a cheeky Easter treat.

Definitely heading back—spotted a bunch of mini festivals advertised while nipping off for a quick tinkle. Looks like a cracking spot...

A traditional Pub in every sense with new, very modern owners! I was US Navy in Scotland in 1981-1985. I had a US Navy reenlistment party at Goose&Cuckoo hosted by good friends and previous owners in 1984. It took me 39 years for my return visit and the welcoming atmosphere, hospitality, openness and good vibes that I remembered are still very much alive and well in 2023! Is the Goose&Cuckoo off the beaten path and a bit difficult to get to - Yes, but I guarantee that you will enjoy every moment of your visit, your hosts and staff will welcome you as long lost family and you will leave with having a really great time and returning home with very fond memories...
