The Gradon — Restaurant in Wales

Went there for food last night. A large group and have to say the food is spot on. I had prawn curry and would say it is the best curry I have ever had. Other people had the fish, which if you ordered the large, is the size of a shark and the best eaters amongst us struggled to finish it. Another had the hawaian gammon which was huge, thick and smothered with tomato, pineapple and cheese. It looked a right treat. My son had the chicken with bacon, BBQ sauce and cheese. He loved it and struggled to finish it all.

I was amazed that of the group is was in that less than half had been here before considering that we all only live about 5 miles away! They all said that their meals were excellent and that they will return back there soon. The staff are all fantastic and very attentive.

The criticism that I have heard (and others in my group had said) that the service is slow. We did not find this at all and were more than happy to sit there and chat whilst the food flowed seemlessly and allowed us to enjoy the ambiance and have a few drinks.

All in all I would say if you want excellent quality, a great time and a memorable experience then this ticks...

We booked this place for a family birthday Sunday lunch after looking at their website. We booked over the phone for 11 of us and travelled the 16 miles from Swansea. When the waitress handed us the menus we were shocked to see that the prices had jumped from the website prices of 12.95 to £17.95 per adult and from £7.95 to 9.95 per child. £5 increase for adults and £2 for children. When we asked the manager she said that the website prices were old old prices. We told her that we weren't told this when we phoned to make the booking, her reply was 'we don't tell people'. After explaining how far we had travelled and that we couldn't afford those prices she said she would take £2 off each adult. We simply couldn't afford to pay what they were asking and left. What a fabulous meal myself and family have just had tonight. Food quality and service was spot on. The beer garden was brilliant and ideal for families. The menu choice was outstanding! I cant undetstand how the place wad that quiet on Saturday evening.. Its well worth a long drive to eat such fab food. If I lived locally I would be there all the time.
