We were told we were too late for the Sunday buffet even though the containers were full of food. Decided to stay and order from the main menu. Place wasn't busy but the wait for food was 45 minutes. When the food came I understood why. The staff had cleared the buffet and given us the left overs reheated in the microwave. It all tasted the same (disgusting) and was scorching hot on the outside and luke warm in the middle. We will not go back. I see the owner has replied. SPURIOUS REVIEW. I'm afraid not. We were not bothered about the buffet. I will add some more to my review. Mango chutney as thin as water in an oversized bowl (how many people had dipped into it beforehand I dread to think). Chicken obviously reheated, very tough and flavourless. Service very slow. Food microwaved. Same base sauce, everything tasted the same. You can have as many pictures of famous people on the wall as you like it doesn't make the food any better. If I had received an apology in the reply I would have taken the review off and just put it down to an off day. When I am acussed of fake reviewing I will make my point...
Read moreEasily the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I made an order for collection and drove home to discover missing items in my order. I called the restaurant immediately to make them aware of the error and explained that the missing items were for my sister. The member of staff on the phone was so rude ‘well we can deliver them to you but will take half hour or just come and get them’ there was no apology for the mistake and inconvenience this caused me. I explained that I couldn’t wait and eat food in front of my sister and had no choice but to drive back to collect the items. I asked for a refund of £6 on the missing items to pay for the cost in petrol to drive back to the restaurant. The member of staff got defensive, and spoke to a member of his team and swore several times about me and my request. When I questioned the member of staff about the way he spoke about me, he never once apologised and ignorantly said ‘make a decision do you want the chips or not’. Unfortunately, this has completely changed my opinion on this restaurant and after years of eating here, I will...
Read moreSo, you enter an Indian restaurant dressed in your afternoon walk attire , ashamed that you didn't wear something more "circumspect" thinking to your self, "they won't have a table in here for me, I have not booked and I look like a scarecrow!" and what happens? You are warmly welcomed, taken to your table and courteously treated. So far so good. The menu is laid out in a sensible understandable manner. You want posh dishes, no problem, the regular chicken Tikka Masala, simple to find. Side vegetable dishes where you would expect them to be. No stress.
Pappadoms Sir ,may I recommend 4 says the waiter with pickles? Yes please you say. When they come you discover you have an extra one. Magic!
The food? Best Motor Paneer my wife has ever had. Garlic Chilly chicken as it should be. All dishes quality ingredients and excellent.
The wait for food? The restaurant was packed and it still came in good time.
The Bill? Very pleasantly surprised. One starter, Pappadoms, two mains, two rice, two side vegetable dishes and two pints of shandy £50.50. Bargain!
Will definitely...
