Booked an evening meal for 4 friends, had been looking forward since changing hands last year. First impressions were very good, bar staff very friendly and welcoming. Food ordered, 4 different dishes, first impressions on the menu was prices seemed a little high for the type of venue. 1st meal was average, Welsh fry up, couldn't really go wrong. Price £11 2nd meal, Sausage and Mash, with meddly veg instead of chips. The mash was seemingly from a packet, veg was peas and carrots.... Carrots more like bullets. The meddly veg was just carrots. Price £14 3rd meal, burger with blue stilton accompanied with chips. The burger was nice, the chips were terrible, frozen chips that were clearly over cooked, and looked as if they were from the bottom of the bag and served in a cluster and stuck together. Did speak to waitress afterwards but no feed back later on. Price £15. 4th meal, hanging shish. Served with salad, rice and chips For me this was the worst meal, certainly not value. The chicken was 5 extremely small bits of chicken, with peppers and onion. Rice, a small sauce bowl, and chips ....after reminding them to bring some were adequate at best. Price £15.

Overall very disappointed, after highlighting and showing waitress the chips from meal 3, nobody came back or followed up and then over heard male Voice from the kitchen say "what did they expect ?" Come in its frozen chips!!

Overall bill came to over £90, this was for 4 largers, 2 pinot wine (1 being a small as they run out) and 2 pepsi. You do the maths.

Such a shame for what could be a lovely venue. Over...

We used the camping site, and not the inn itself. On the whole it was disappointing. The site is next to a busy road, with no tree planting for sound proofing. Cars race through at all hours of the day and night, so is not peaceful, and not much chance to sleep. The caravan facilities were poor. The first pitch we used had a faulty electric hookup which tripped out our whole caravan. So we had to move to another pitch and try again. In total, two hours lost to setting up. This meant we didnt get to eat until 10pm. My dad, in his eighties, went to the pub to eat while we tried to resolve the problems, but they had fully closed the inn by 9pm. Grey waste facility was basic. Water facility to fill aquaroll was non existent. There was a sink in the shower block which provided the only water tap. You need a hose to fill your aquaroll. Shower block is not safe. Shower only had a curtain, and no locking door. It smelt unpleasant and looked in need of a major clean. We would never use this inn/campsite again.

Edit following response from Inn. We are not new to caravaning, and are more than capable of plugging a three pronged plug into your hook up point. What we cannot do is resolve why that hook up point kept tripping our electrical system. Your wife was helpful in a passive aggressive way. Telling us that 'it worked this morning' achieves nothing. Her own suggestion of moving to another pitch shows that you know there are issues with that hook up point. Would suggest you get your...

Liked: Looked lovely when we arrived, not over crowded pitches for the campervan/caravan area. Hard standing with own green space, & garden picnic benches. Well landscaped with willow trees

There were 2 large wigwam tents for hire, & 2 green pods for hire with there own garden space.

Owners were very friendly. Bar staff cheerful, & very helpful. Sunday meal nice. Lovely garden furniture, & beautiful hills to look at. Easy to drive into the site. A popular friendly pub. Saw a barn owl flying over the site.

Disliked: Although we really liked the site on arrival, unfortunately it was right beside a very busy main road.

Trucks, cars, vans, it was the main road to Shewsbury so it couldn't be helped, but the traffic was constant.

It was difficult to get out onto the main rd from the site.

The train line was on the other side of the field by the tent field, & ran quite often. So unfortunately it was a very noisy site, no fault of the owners.

We felt the campers toilets outside could be upgraded. In the shower/toilet/ dishwashing area.... A proper door on the toilet needed, too many gaps to see through.

The refuse bins were confusing, not knowing which were for recycling. Only one said for cardboard. If they could label the other bins it would have helped, it was just guess work for us. We did try to do the right thing, but they were all mixed up.

We're trying to give a fair report of the site. A lovely site, just unfortunately in the wrong area...

After a lovely walk in the countryside we came to the Green Dragon, we were greeted by the friendly lady behind the bar which later turned out to be the co-owner Shaz. We immediately felt welcome and the service was excellent :) We ordered the salt and pepper squid and chicken wings as starters to share which were both incredible, for mains we chose the burger and veg tart which again was amazing and they do not skimp on portions! Tommy came out the kitchen to see if everything was OK and we honestly couldn't fault anything.. Chef to chef we chatted and we could see how much passion and care this awesome couple have for their pub! Please go and try their food, there's an amazing tapas menu available along with classic favourites and homemade pizzas.. their Sunday roasts look impeccable and the beer garden is stunning. Thank you for an amazing meal and experience on our holiday, we will be definitely visit again! Best of luck from Rhiannon and Matt!! :)

We visited here yesterday and had the best time, the site is well maintained and spacious. There’s plenty of facilities available (showers, chemical waste etc!). The food was brilliant, we had such a lovely meal. Dog friendly which was a bonus, we also met the resident dog which was such a lovely dog and a bonus for us as dog lovers. Also there is an antique store on site which we LOVED, really well priced too. We met the owners Tommy and Shaz, we had the best night with them and they are just such a dream. It was an absolute pleasure to meet them and we are already looking at when we can go back! They treated our four legged friend that well she tried to stay there! Thank you & See you soon!!! Hayley
