So we used this pub as an overnight stopover with our camper. Large, mostly level carpark which looks to be covered by cctv so we felt safe. There was very few cars passing and we enjoyed a peaceful night's sleep. Initially I felt a bit out of sorts as we had the pub to ourselves and there was no one to chat to which was odd but then the couple who ran out came out and chatted and they were absolutely lovely! The chairs could perhaps do with being updated as I found them extremely hard and a little uncomfortable and the tables were rather sticky HOWEVER....all, and I mean all is forgiven, screw the seats when it comes to the food because let me tell you...! BEEEAAUUTIFUL!!! The most perfectly cooked, delicious food I've ever eaten! I'd sit on a porcupine if I had to just to eat their food again. If you're not too fussed about your seat or having people to natter with I highly recommend this pub for it's food alone. Also very reasonably priced considering I paid considerably more for a meal elsewhere that was no where near as good. Also the toilets are spotless and very nice. They don't have high chairs for kiddies. There's a gorgeous little beer garden too. Superb wine and out of this world food and safe overnight parking provided by a really lovely couple. Definitely...
ย ย ย Read moreIf you don't want a chain pub (Robinson's) or a posh restaurant please go here. We were surprised that this was a proper family run country pub surrounded by fields and sheep. I was also amazed that it currently only has 4.6 on google, not more. We found it hard to find good pubs around Snowdon that weren't catered towards tourists and high foot falls where businesses didn't need to try.
The pub is clean and has Snowdon Craft beer on draft, no Fosters or Carling (which for us was a plus). It also has a small pretty garden and allows motor homes to stay over night. The food is home cooked and you can tell this is true with real chips, handmade sausages and great deserts. I can't understand why someone commented that the food is of poor quality as we found it to be one of the best in the area. The prices are good and the portions are large.
Honestly don't bother with the pub in Trefriw, small portions, bad quality and expensive. Go...

It really is a stunning old pub which has some history behind it. It's a shame that it isn't open a bit more often but I can understand that if it's quiet then it wouldn't be profitable. This place has so much potential it really does. Enjoyed the food it was tasty and a good portion ( the wife was expecting the portion of wetherspoons so ordered extra chips ) her face was priceless seen the size.
Downside was, it was a cold place so wrap up warm.
The coke was flat out of a bottle which was a shame. The young lad serving looked a bit depressed bless him. He was helpful but think he could do with a bit of cheering up in front of customers.
Need to give more sauces in the tub as 6 of each doesn't go far with the size of them.
Other than that it is a lovely little place and I'd...
