The Mason Arms — Restaurant in Wales

I've used this facility many times before the lockdown and found it OK. The band Half Tidy were playing live there last night 13-06-2021, this is one hell of a good band so I booked a table for myself and the missus. I arrived and went to my table which was behind a load of bushes, I couldn't see the band so I pulled a small table and x2 chairs out next to my reserved table, up came the order maid, "what would you like to drink sir and put that table and chairs back". What happened to "please" and "I'm sorry, but because of the Dracula Flu we have to keep the setup we have" I was not happy and we both left. Sorry I missed the band, but I am a customer not and animal. Mason Arms please teach manner's to your staff

Last night Half Tidy...

Oh dear what a disappointment! We ( my wife and myself) had a vegetarian Sunday lunch and it was awful. The veggie options were sausages and mushroom stroganoff - a strange thing to have with vegetables. We opted for sausages. These were a strange beige colour with a powdery coating. Gave them a try - tasteless as were the vegetables. They lacked sufficient seasoning needing more salt. The cubed swede was obviously warmed up from the freezer and the peas were like bullets. We had an apology from the cook and a denial about the seasoning.

This was not a good meal and standards have slipped badly. The pub used to serve up very good Sunday lunches. Something is going wrong. Will not be recommending this pub to...

Not sure who's reviews i'm reading (should be checked). I found it overall average to poor. Parked in carpark & a van (local) was part blocking entrance gate to beer garden, not very welcoming. Only one Ale on offer. Ordered homemade burger with, added cheese & bacon. 5/10. MEAL. Very small wooden plate. Chips......nice but not great Bun.........very dry, didnt eat it all Salad garnish... inside the burger, not enough room on plate for it. Burger....only item gave it a 5/10 Bacon....cheap Cheese...had no taste. Coleslaw...could only taste vinegar Tennants/owners. Consumed with themselves, as a customer I felt a little ignored, no welcome & waited for service while they chatted. Needs much improvement for...
