Appallingly rude staff. Myself, daughter K and son-in-law D visited about 2.30 on Saturday 30 March. People inside were eating but we were told "We're not serving food." We sat outside and D went in to order drinks but came out angrily after a few minutes as the barman had served the people beside and behind him, deliberately ignoring D. K then went in to order drinks. While she was there a member of staff came out to the family next to us, apologising for their long wait for their meals. When I said we'd been told that they weren't serving food she said "Well we're very busy and we're expecting a party of ten in." In other words we are serving food but we can't be bothered serving you. If she'd said "I'm sorry we're fully booked" or "I'm sorry, we're very busy there'll be a long wait" we would have understood but there was no excuse for the extremely rude way we were treated by both her and the barman. A pity as we remember this in the past as a warm, friendly, welcoming pub but we'll not be returning and are warning all our friends who also walk...
