👍 What’s good The pub is described by visitors as friendly and welcoming: one reviewer said it was a “great place, lovely people, great beer”. It offers a nice local vibe – not overly fancy, but down-to-earth and comfortable, which suits a casual visit. They hold events like an open mic session (mentioned as “1st Sunday of each month … it was fantastic!!”) which is great if you enjoy community-style entertainment. Convenient location: Mostyn Rd, Greenfield, Holywell — easy to find if you’re in that area. Good for relaxing: if you’re looking for somewhere to unwind after an outing (for example after your horse-riding, gym, or a chill day), this seems like a solid option. 👎 What to keep in mind / possible improvements It’s a local community pub rather than a destination for gourmet dining or high-end cocktails. If you’re expecting a top-tier dining experience, you might find it more basic. There isn’t a comprehensive menu or many detailed recent reviews of food quality (from what I found). The event nights (open mic, etc) may mean it’s louder or busier when those are on — make sure you check the schedule if you prefer a quiet pint 📝 Overall impression “I popped into The Packet House in Greenfield after a countryside walk and found an honest, friendly pub with good beer and a welcoming atmosphere. It’s exactly the kind of place where you can settle in, enjoy a drink and maybe catch some live music or open mic on the first Sunday of the month. It isn’t gourmet fine dining, but it ticks all the right boxes for a relaxed, local-pub experience. I’d recommend it if you’re in the area and want somewhere uncomplicated and comfortable.”

Just the packet… 😉 After a Sunday stroll from Holywell to Greenfield, we stumbled onto The Packet House, starving enough to eat the table itself!! Drinks? They’ve got everything short of bottled Welsh mountain mist, so we got 2 pints of “I’ve earned this.” Then came the roast, plates the size of frisbee’s, with potatoes that could legally be classed as pillows. By the time we finished, we were so full we considered setting up camp right there. 10 out of 10: come hungry, left as human yorkshire puds!

I came here yesterday with my two young children. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the garden outside is absolutely amazing for children! Thank you to Lynsey and Jade for all your help!
