The Pebbles Café — Restaurant in Wales

The service was dreadful. We popped in for a quick bite to eat and a walk along the beach while our EV charged, and the service was so slow I had to go and take the car off the charger before the food was delivered. It wasn't even busy, but basically there were three children staffing the place with an unenthusiastic adult in the back room. The coffee was disappointing. We never got the food order, giving up after 40 minutes. We only ordered a baguette. Won't be coming back.

Edit for further clarification following owner reply: we got two 100% machine-made coffees after about 30 minutes. After 40 minutes we asked for a refund, due to having a 3½ hour drive ahead of us. People who ordered a takeaway before us still hadn't received part of their order. At least one of the staff, regardless of age, was not well trained, although the girl that served us was doing her best. Part of our order had been made about 20 minutes earlier, but not delivered due to some kind of issue with running out of ham. Had we been told we would have changed the order. The cafe was definitely not busy, and 3pm on a Saturday afternoon in August is a strange time to take staff away from serving customers. Handy little place for those with deep pockets. As a captive market, customers are subjected to rather high pricing on everything, including a humble cup of take away tea in a tiny polystyrene cup. Packets of cakes which can be bought reasonably a couple of miles away at regular shops are unashamedly offered at literally triple the price here! APPALLING service, 😕Very limited choice, asked if I could have the fish cake with some bread rather than chips, a boomed reply, NO you can only have with chips, why I asked, are they stuck to the fish cake.
