The Pelcomb Inn — Restaurant in Wales

Been here a few times and its one of those pubs where you feel like you're getting a warm welcome no matter what time of the year.

It's that sort of pub you can sense is run by a family and not a chain so it still retains that character.

It doesn't rely on gimmicks or cheap, microwaved food prices instead you get decent decent ale, good local Pembrokeshire food (like mackerel that other chain pubs in the area can't sell) all done with a sense of pride.

Some nights it's packed to the rafters and you have to wait for a seat but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Sky sports fans are catered for but there is a non sports and tv area for those who wish. Not stuck out in the wilds nor too close to town it's worth checking out.

Updated. Had a Sunday lunch just this past weekend and it's been a very long time since I've had something as flavoursome with the bonus of being served in the evening after a very wet...

We came to have some food before heading to the beach. The staff were welcoming... well, the 1 member of staff that we saw. She was great.

The food however, was nice and I'd eat there again, but, wasn't what the menus say it's going to be. The burger was supposed to be a big burger with brioche buns, they were standard buns and I had 2 (from what I can tell) microeavable burgers that looked like they came out a tin. Luckily I actually love tinned burgers, so I ate it. It was nice, but I was looking forward to a fat juicy burger in a brioche bun.

The kids spaghetti looked nice, but kids can be fussy and It looked un agitating for her (she is also fussy), maybe less or no tomato bits.

It seems that they had a food shortage or messed up a food delivery or never changed the menu.

Other than that, the place was nice....

Been here quite a few times over the last 6 months and couldn't fault it....but very disappointed this time. Came up on Sunday for a family lunch it was really busy there and obviously very understaffed. Felt really sorry for the girl behind the bar as she was really up against it as the only one serving and and had queues both side of bar. She gave outstanding service . The waitress service left a lot to be desired.. she just put the plates in front of us didnt ask who wanted goujons or prawn cocktail so we had to swap plates between us. The same thing happened with main course found her rude.. couldn't fault the dinner but obviously they cannot cope with a full restaurant. Did want desserts but waited too long at bar and left. Won't be returning...
