Under new management in 2023, the staff seem really friendly, there is now a shop on site which is really handy as we live locally. The food in the purple badger is really good value. I had lunch and it was a good portion, the chips were delicious and everything was freshly made.

Easter Sunday lunch. The food was great. A lovely buzz in the bar again. The vegetables were lovely and plenty of them. The lamb was great and a good portion of meat. Profiteroles blanco were lovely with chantilly cream. Staff were great too.

Extremely friendly and smiling staff. Decent food and good food. At The time of our travel we were the only one there and were pampered by the staff. Will advise all travelers to take a pit stop at this place.

Absolutely awful, the person behind the bar had a very, very bad attitude, I would go so far as to say that neither he nor the chef should be working in the customer service/hospitality industry. We booked for Christmas eve, and thought that we may be late so I called to ask if that would be okay, after some huffing and puffing the person said they would ask the chef if that was okay, a word to the wise, don't take the phone into the kitchen so that the customer can hear the whole conversation, the chef was extremely unhappy but agreed that it would be, begrudgingly, okay. So we duly arrived, and thankfully we weren't late. We waited at the bar, finally ringing the bell for sevice, we were eventually served by the person who I had spoken to on the phone, we ordered our drinks, which rather that being put in front of us, were bizarrely, placed out of reach. We were shown to a table, it would have been helpful if the person who served us had told us that we needed to order at the bar, we discovered this after about half an hour, we had asked the person if we could order but he must have felt like that was a inconvenience to him as he still didn't have the courtesy to tell us we needed to order at the bar. Finally we spoke to another member of staff, Marley (?) who was lovely and very apologetic, explaining that we needed to order at the bar, so we finally placed our order. Surprise, surprise, the food , when it did finally arrive, was cold and unappealing, we would have been better staying at home. I would steer clear of here. It used to have such a good reputation, unfortunately due to a minority of staff and their attitude, it seems that is is now a mere shadow of the place it was. AVOID...

We had one meal at this restaurant on an immaculate holiday park, enjoying the really good freshly-cooked food, large helpings and friendly, prompt service. There is a very wide choice of food in the restaurant, with the popular basics available at the bar or for takeaway. For the quality and quantity, the prices were fair.

We can’t quite give 5 stars due to an accumulation of minor let downs: We had to ask for serving spoons for the vegetables and other ‘accessories’ that should have arrived with, or before the food. We would have liked to finish our meal with a coffee, as would another couple nearby, but the machine was either broken or turned off and there was no back-up like filter coffee.

You have to go to the bar for your drinks and pay each time before going back to the table. The only non or low alcohol drink available was a sweet mixed fruit cider, when there are plenty of excellent low alcohol apple ciders available now. Local brewery Gower produce a very reasonable low alcohol IPA, and Guinness Zero is becoming popular.

However, there isn’t much competition in the area and we would certainly eat here again. In fact, I've booked a caravan for a 3 day break on the...

Visited friends at the site after hearing good reviews thinking about buying a holiday home,we visited the purple badger pub, our friends had booked a table for our visit only to find the table had been given to someone else. When we spoke to one of the managers about this the best he could offer was four seats in the main room but no table?

When we asked where we were supposed to put our drinks he said on the floor under your seats, the way he dealt with the situation was so aloof as my friend is disabled and cannot bend.

I have worked in retail for fourty years and his attitude was absolutely disgusting, no people skill or hospitality skills what so ever when my stated good customer skills he replied it is what it is.

Filled in a questionnaire of how bad the service was the place was cold the food was shocking, gave my feedback form to the manager (ki) asked if he wanted my mobile number to give more detail feedback, but he refused, shocking service, what a way to treat first timers, I was thinking of buying a lodge but when they are not even interested in the hands feeds (the customer) the service provide speaks...
