Found this beauty of a place on a pubstopover website as I wanted to stay with my T5 camper. A nice level carpark in a very quiet area with lovely views to wake up to.
I didn’t have any food as I arrived quite late, but looking at others reviews I wish I had.
Amanda and Neil were looking after the pub whilst her father the landlord was in hospital, they were so friendly it was like being amongst old friends. We sat and chatted all evening and I can honestly say I’ve never been made to feel so welcome by people I’d just met! Their little pooch needs a quick mention too… Trixie is a beautifully well behaved dog, she just wanted to play all evening. Next time I'll bring my Jack Russell too, I'm sure they'd get on great.

This was my first stop on a road trip round England and Wales and I chose to park here for the night in my van as I read some great reviews about this place and that they're welcome to campers . Even knowing the great reviews going in, I was still surprised by how good the hospitality and friendliness was. Amanda was lovely and made me feel very welcome. All the locals in there were very helpful and friendly too and the location is perfect, especially if you are looking for someone to park your RV or van for the night. Read moreWhat a gem of a place. we have just been for a meal with my brother and sister in law who came to visit us for the weekend from Rotherham South Yorkshire. We booked a table after reading the reviews. Well they were not wrong. The food was absolutely delicious all freshly cooked to perfection. The lamb shank with mash potato was so well cooked it just fell off the bone. The puddings all home made were just so gorgeous.
