My other half and I were staying in Haverfordwest for two nights for a trip to Skomer. We'd driven past The Rising Sun Inn many times to and from St Davids and thought we'd stop for our first evening meal. We booked a table in advance, which is advisable due to the number of people from the caravan park and B&B. From the moment we entered the restaurant, we were welcomed and attended to by the staff with warmth and efficiency. I tried the Barry Island IPA, which was superb! The restaurant was spotlessly clean and the staff were thorough in their application of the COVID-19 requirements in place at the time. The menu had a good choice and all reasonably priced. When our meals arrived, we were amazed at the generous proportions we had been given. The meals that we had were certainly NOT your typical bought-in and microwaved. They had been made from fresh ingredients, and were well presented. The staff were efficient, professional and friendly throughout. We enjoyed our meal so much, we ate there the second evening, and will visit in future. Thoroughly...

There are 2 female toilets and a shower and 1 male toilet and shower and they were spotlessly clean. A small utility room to wash up with plenty of hot water. Also a washing machine and dryer. We never ate in the pub but had plenty of drinks whilst watching the football. A very warm welcome. The cycle path is completely off road all the way to Haverfordwest which is less than 2 miles away. There is a bus stop that goes to Haverfordwest in one direction and St Davids the other and stops at the beautiful Newgate beach. Plenty of supermarkets in Haverfordwest to stock up on supplies. The town isn't touristy though. Would...
Read morewe went as a family of 8 for a birthday celebration. Great welcome, dog friendly. we had an infant in a pushchair as well and plenty of room. Very comfortable surroundings, great touches with games and activities available for the children, such a nice touch. Everyone was super friendly, attentive and welcoming. the food was lovely, well cooked, we had varied choices but all served together and lovely and hot and fresh. As a group we had starters , mains and sweets from the menu. Everyone enjoyed their choices and thought it was all very tasty. All the produce is locally sourced and fresh, the presentation was really good. The pub was busy with lots of meals being served but service remained excellent. We will definitely be returning, as a couple or with...
