My husband, my mother in law, my 2 daughters and myself, visited this pub when we first arrived in Tremeirchion. There was only one member of staff serving and the place was practically empty. She was polite and the food was enjoyable. We decided to return a few days later. There were several staff sat out in the garden area who looked us up and down as we approached. There were only 2 customers inside and a different person was on the bar. We asked politely were they serving food that evening to be told "Yes but I'll see if we have space!!!!!" I repeat.....there were 2 customers in there, who by the way, laughed out loud when she said this as there were empty seats EVERYWHERE. She then came back and was smiling, bringing with her, the bar person who served us on our previous visit. She however, looked quite uncomfortable with the situation but dutifully told us it was 'burger night'. Only my husband likes burgers so we asked was there anything else available. We were told firmly, 'no'. The atmosphere was awkward, unhelpful and quite frankly, embarrassing. We were not inappropriately dressed, my children are polite and well mannered, aged 12 and 9 years, and we eat out as a family regularly. I can only assume that it was our accent that this particular venue does not appreciate. Yes, myself and my family are from Liverpool, for which I make no apologies. I have been brought up to be honest, hard working and most important of all, to not show prejudice. I cannot stress enough how much I would advise you NOT TO VISIT HERE. Customers are vital to your business and yet, your attitude is a disgrace. I hope your TWO CUSTOMERS tip well enough to cover the wages of the FIVE STAFF who sat around doing nothing when we arrived and that someday your lack of manners will pay your...

Read moreA warm welcome (physically as the log fire was burning on a cold winter afternoon!) but also the staff* and locals were friendly too. We were staying nearby and this pub was in walking distance. We’d just gone in for a drink but saw the food and looked at the menu and ordered - we were not disappointed. Food portions are big and tasty. Vegan and gluten free options. There are takeout options too. Really reasonable prices too.
*We learnt the pub is run by members of the community, so they didn’t lose it. So all help out in to keep it going.
It’s a lovely relaxed feel and a good-sized pub with different areas. Also has dart board, pool table and good beer garden (in sunny weather).
We will return and I wish the community good luck, such...
