We found this place today on the off chance and wow, we loved it! So cosy and warm with the fire. The food was incredible, and really well presented. The ladies serving couldn't do enough for us, super friendly and chatty. They welcomed my dog and they all made a fuss of him and gave him treats and water ❤️. We will definitely be coming back here for food while we explore the surrounding area with the church and castle next to it.

An incredible lunch today, food was fantastic, service was excellent, prompt and attentive, without being overbearing, never rushed and the FOH team went above and beyond. How they are delivering food of this quality, cooking technique, proficiency, and plating skills at the price point is just bonkers!!. Anyway, don't listen to me, just go and experience for yourselves, you can thank me later ;-)

Great local pub with great food . Found the pub via Google and Trip Adviser, so booked a table for two and took a short drive up to the pub. Food was really good and we had the option of eating it in the pub or the set dining area. Portions are quite big! My main which was a chicken burger was so big i wish i did not order a starter. I would give this place 5 stars. A local gem!

Lovely Pub in the Village of Penmark, the Dining Room is very modern with a lovely welcoming Log Fire and the Staff Greetings were to be recommended.

Shame after such a warm greeting that this establishment whilst having all the hallmarks of producing a Great Standard of Service,, simply did not deliver, both in Service and Menu.

Having selected our meals and been served our Main Meal, once eaten we could have walked out without anyone noticing, staff really took there eye of the ball here whilst everything else in the restaurant had a more urgent priority.

The Main Meals scored really well, 4 of us dined here and in fairness everything was good to go. I had the Sirloin Med Rare which was delicious, but I was not quite sure why it was served with Half a Burnt Onion ? Perhaps that is an idea to far ?

Desert Menu was for us a complete non starter, the lack of choice and poor selection was obvious and no Cheese Board was offered which would have made up for the poor choices. If you do as I did and order the ice cream be prepared as it was 2 tiny eye balls of ice cream served in a child's dish, no trimmings, nothing ! not even a choc or raspberry sauce or a wafer !!!

Finally who serves Capuccino without Chocolate Sprinkles, it really ended up tasting like a Flat White Coffee.

Would we return, maybe, but not to sure it would be on a Saturday evening and not until they had a New Desert Menu.

Could be 5 stars all day long, with a couple of tweaks and some staff...

Very different to what you see from outside.... in process of being update...very nice inside clean & fresh .....

Fish cakes to start...very nice ... hubby had calamari which was not quite as expected ... but chef redeemed himself when we questioned the dish ....

Main courses absolutely gorgeous ..as good a meal as I have had in Cardiff ... Lamb rump beautifully cooked as requested & and above average portion .. Ribeye steak again perfectly cooked to request... CHIPS TO DIE FOR .... side sauce & cauliflower cheese amazing.....

Really wanted to try dessert & cheese but only room one sharing cheesecake which was lovely ....

Staff were very attentive and respectful especially when we questioned the one starter ...

Great meal, good portions, lovely surroundings & bathrooms ...

Pub prices but restaurant quality food...

Will certainly be back ... wish you well

NB.. free parking overnight...

Overall a good experience but heavily let down by the slow service.

I booked a table for 7pm and we were shown to our table shortly after arriving. The place itself is very modern and had a nice feel.

Our waitress took our drinks orders (2 pints of cider + bottle of Red wine) but it took approx. 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive. Our food orders were taken shortly after and food arrived quickly.

Unfortunately my steak had to be sent back. I requested medium but it arrived raw! This was soon rectified though and the replacement steak was perfect.

We asked for the dessert menu and after 45 minutes of waiting, we decided to go to the bar, pay our tab and leave.

I could appreciate the slowness if the restaurant was rammed but we were only one of five tables in the place!

Overall, food fantastic but service far too slow and for this we...
