We tried to have a meal at The Swan lake Inn, albeit unsuccessfully. We sat at one table, and were barked at by the barmaid that it was reserved. There was no notice, and even people at the bar remonstrated with the barmaid that we were not to know. We went to sit on a different table, when a couple who were sat at another table sheepishly moved to the one that had been "reserved" for them. It seems they too had no idea that a different table had been reserved for them.
We got menus from the bar and were told that we had to order food within five minutes. We were a group of seven with young children, but managed to get everyone to choose what they wanted within the five minute window. However, when we went back to the bar to place our order, we were told that the barmaid would not take our order until the other table had placed their order for food. We asked if we would be told when they had placed their order, and were bluntly told "no, you have to come up". Not knowing how long it would take for the other table's party to arrive in full, how long it would take them to order (I assume that they did not have a similar five minute time window in which to place an order for food), and not wanting to continually monitor the activities of another table, we left and went elsewhere. We will not be returning.
We can recommend The Parsonage Inn for a friendly atmosphere, which is where we...
Read moreCalled in at this quiant treasure today. Shame thing was we didn't find it sooner. What an amazing pub. The food was delicious and we didn't have to wait long. The bruchetta was delicious and one of the best we've tasted. Mum and I had the gammon what a feast for the mouth that was. Very flavourful and melted in the mouth. The coleslaw was incredible far better that we have ever had. My husband had the ploughman's which was full of different things to tempt the taste buds. Our son had the children's chicken nuggets and chips. It was the first meal ALL week he has eaten and cleared his entire plate. He said they were yummy! We ordered drinks but wanted a drink off menu (Black Russian) but that was not too much trouble. The barman was more than happy to accommodate us which his cheery disposition. All the staff was warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble...especially the guy who greeted us and served us at the bar. A final gift from Tenby was finding The Swanlake. If you are ever blessed with visiting Tenby pay Swanlake a visit and tell them we sent you. You will not be disappointed. Love good food, a cosy atmosphere and good company, then the Swanlake is the place to visit! Best wishes to you all and a BIG thank you from The Adams Family from England...
Read moreAbsolutely horrendous from start to finish. No atmosphere, barely present and inattentive staff. We were told our wait for food would be 40 minutes, with small children is quite long but had already come from somewhere that told us we would be waiting an hour and half so 40 minutes was acceptable to us at this point. We ordered our food at 8:05pm and got it at 9:20pm so not the 40 minute wait we were told. Unless they were utterly crowded in the other section of the bar there were only two tables of 5 each being served in our section. When our food eventually came out our order was wrong but they were able to rectify it in minutes which makes me question the hour and 15 minutes wait for our food initially!!!! My sons “pizza” was two bits of bread with tomato sauce and cheese on. Our “ vegetable lasagna” was more greasy cheese and no vegetables. My sons burger was basic at best . In fact basic and under par is how I would describe this whole dinning experience . I would highly NOT recommend it. It was so bad in fact that when paying the server didn’t even ask if everything was ok ? ( which is standard) as I think even she realises it’s below par on every level! Don’t even bother to darken the doorstep of the...
