Upper Rectory Restaurant & Shepherds Hut Accommodation — Restaurant in Wales

We spent 4 perfect nights at the shepherds hut, Berriew. It offers the best combination back to basics with a modern twist. Everything was there that you required, including a kitchen, Seating with a fire pit, BBQ gas or coal fired.The accommodation was warm and cosy with a log burner if required. The wet room was amazing, which was improved with a short meander with great views. Berriew village is a short walk away along the canal with 2 pubs, village shop, tea rooms and local butchers. Our first visit to this little gem of a place certainly didn't disappoint. From the moment we walked through the door the attention to detail was amazing. Every course we ate was so flavoursome..our favourite being the Twice Baked Cheese Soufflé with the Welsh Rarebit Sauce and the Fillet of Pork stuffed with Wild Garlic We'll certainly be recommending Upper Rectory to friends and family and will definitely be returning ourselves. This is probably one of my favourite restaurants to visit. The warmth and friendliness you'd expect from a family-run restaurant but the exquisite food that seduces your taste buds, leading them course-by-course down the winding road of sheer heavenly indulgence. I tell all my friends to visit this charming restaurant if they're in the area - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it and am only sorry it's not closer to London as I'd love to visit...
