This is not a dig at the hardworking staff. There are simply not enough staff employed to run the place at an acceptable service level. There was just 1 person working the bar, taking both food and drink orders. The queue to order was long, we waited nearly 15 mins in line to actually place our order. The bar person was friendly, professional, and apologetic regarding the slow service. Our table had not been cleaned to acceptable standards, with food stains evident from the last diners. The reserved sign, and the condiment holders looked as if they had not been cleaned for a VERY long time, with food stuck to them, which was very unappealing. The food itself was quite good, but service was very slow, as there appeared to be only 1 server throughout the restaurant. Our server was friendly, pleasant and apologised about the wait for our meals. I appreciate hospitality has to try to make savings. However, cutting staffing levels to the bones has a negative effect on customer satisfaction. I'm not sure we would visit again, due to the very long wait, and the less than pristine cleanliness of the tables and condiments, which is a shame, as this used to be run very efficiently.

Nice enough place for a midweek lunch, staff very pleasant and helpful although they did seem a bit rushed, was quite busy so perhaps they had an unexpected rush. Have to wait to be seated, and don't forget to register your vehicle on the tablet else you'll end up with a £100 fine. We dined on a Friday lunchtime, were given a separate daytime "saver menu' from which I ordered the lasagne at £6, this is normally £11.29 so a good deal, my only negative with it is it was a bit "wet" had a side order of garlic mushrooms so this mopped us the liquid. Wife had a fish pie fishcake, which I have to be honest was really nice, waitress had to point out that it was a fishcake and not a fish pie, she said this had to be said as someone had complained it wasn't a fish pie,, despite being described on the menu as a fish pie fishcake, some people hey. It's not fine dining but if you are looking for a nice reasonable priced lunch I would recommend.

Dont go here! We were not greeted for 2-3mins & when we were it was not very friendly, was not asked where we would like to sit despite it being nearly empty. Stuck in a corner by a pillar which was barely enough room for four of us & wasn't comfortable despite 4 spacious window tables being available throughout our entire visit, it was baffling, why not sit guests by the window it makes the place look far more welcoming.

Ordered at the bar & got four over priced refillable drinks, lemonade tasted a bit strange, diet coke poured clear, went back to bar asked for a diet coke & informed them of the syrup issue. Was given a incredibly thick syrupy regular coke despite the staff member asking was it diet as she was pressing the button on the dispenser, so gave up and poured a fanta myself as there was one member of staff serving the bar, food & welcoming new customers/asking them to wait for the greeter to emerge every 5-10mins, I just couldn't queue again it was too agonising & she looked overwhelmed & ready to just quit despite it being pretty quiet.

Waited so long for food needed a second round of refills, the lemonade syrup had also run out so tried diet coke again but after almost a hour they still hadn't replaced it went back to the bar reminded them of the syrup for both coke & lemonade again & got a bunch of weird tasting lemonade from the bar it was just terrible also the ice was out of order, they just can't get the basics right.

Then the food... service was slow, food was terrible & pretty basic, my girlfriends Turkey dinner was burnt & my beef pie barely had any filling, wasn't very warm & came with just some basic fries on the side & the worse watery gravy I've had, it was like granuals gravy. No one came to ask us how the food was. Then the person serving cleared four tables around us while we were clearly finished and had stacked our plates on the end of the table.

There was no other customers there at this point around 3pm. We waited at least 30mins for plates to be cleared before we lost patience and asked for them to be cleared & to have our desserts which we ordered at the bar previously to save time queuing again. The staff clearly are not trained properly on the order of service & the staff themselves I don't think have ever been to a restaurant or understand the service industry... or maybe they just don't care.

Desserts were pretty basic too, tasteless and small with clearly no care in preparation & were definitely not freshly made. I went to get one last drink but predictably the lemonade & the coke syrups had still not been replaced. I was not queuing at the bar for 5-10mins again, this is so bad, I'm paying more to serve myself then inconvenienced even more to do that every time. Either its complete incompetence or the staff are just not trained on how to keep the place running or the manager just quit that day, I don't know but if it's how it is regularly, they won't have any returning customers.

I heard other customers also complaining about the lemonade taste & not realising it's a syrup issue, pretty much every customer would of had a issue with drinks which extended the bar queue which just made the experience terrible.

We left before we seen another member of staff it was like a ghost town in there. They have a Christmas tree but no music or atmosphere or staff its absolutely terrible in every possible way including the glowing gambling machines in the corner next to the bar & the lonely men drinking alone.

Urgh who would want to come here with their kids? It was not a fun or nice place to have a family get together. On the plus side there was parking available I guess... We will never return.

I'd highly recommend the Willow Tree in Brynmawr as an alternative it's slightly more expensive but they have friendly staff proper table service & a great atmosphere. Plus the food is amazing!

Brewers fayre just don't care about their customers, their food, their staff or their business. Worst experience I've had in many years & everyone just seems oblivious of all...

Only rated 1 star as wouldn't let me leave no rating Went here as family from ebbw vale that we were visiting for good Friday we were a party if 15 adults and 7 children firstly the two meals for £10.99 were off the menu due to it being good Friday ok we can't complain and expected this......however a charge of £3 each child for play area I've never seen a Brewers Faye charge for the children's play area before we ordered our food after one another and paid our order was done at 12:13pm there was hardly anyone except us in the building when ordered were placed meals started coming out shortly after 8 adults received their meals within 10 minutes however 1pm ourselves my niece and nephew their partners my husband and the children were still awaiting our meals however other people who had come in and ordered they're food had theirs straight away ate their meals and left, when we enquired about the meals we were told they were on they way the children were getting irritable and we were going way past being hungry we aired our concerns again at management and were eventually issued a full refund by the time we returned to the table the food had been delivered however not warm dry and not value for money if we hadn't had our money back we would have complained on the quality that they serve I will never return here my first and last experience, it's a shambles needs to be more child friendly £3 each child for play area is quite a cheek considering the money that parents spend also all Brewers fares accept Armed forces veterans discount cards however when my brotherinlaw showed his on paying at the bar the manager was very rude and abrupt and said no we are not accepting them the attitude and manners of the management is abysmal.........they need a retrain course on customer service and learn that veterans who have served for their country should be treated with respect.....Brewers Fayre...

Worst meal experience i think I've had so far. It's mother's day and we came here in the usual high hopes of great service but instead was left very unhappy. We had booked a table and had been placed into the child play area. Ordered our food. Unfortunately due to business this took an hour for starter and main therefore leaving which was fine as busy but left us until 7pm at the play area which meant closing and having to have to move to eat our dessert at the bar. Yes you read that correct. We had to stand with 3 children at the bar to have our dessert. Being fed up we just took a random table that we weren't meant to sit at there was no way I'm standing at the bar trying to eat dessert with no seat. Was waiting 25 minutes on dessert after we had been moved and 10 before we were moved and were told they were ready. Clearly not. I had 3 different people come and ask us what dessert we ordered im not sure why it took 3 different people to get two desserts correct. The play area was left with kids unsupervised and kids screaming so bad two other customers asked to be moved to eat somewhere else. I understand it's a play area. But these screams were so bad customers actually wanted to leave. Pretty sure children are meant to be supervised at all times and older kids were literally throwing the soft play around dangerously. Food was great I can't complain about that. But this is not good enough leaving us just standing around like that. 5 people starters were left with our dessert no one to take them away. Very disappointed to say the least. Which is a shame because we usually love our experience here. I'll avoid in...
