What an amazing gem in the great heart of Wales!
I loved it under the previous owners, and honestly was gutted when it was sold. But the new owners have managed to not only keep it running, but also managed to retain the essence of this lovely spot.
The huge Red Dragon (y Ddraig Goch) out front welcomes travellers from near and far. Bright interior, everything is sparkling clean, with tables inside and even outside to enjoy a meal in the sun.
Of course, the menu is a huge draw. No frills and nonsense - instead there's a good selection of nice, wholesome meals at a very reasonable price.
And what of little travellers who have the joy to visit Wales? There's a "Play barn" for weary children to stretch their legs and have some fun in a climbing area, whilst their parents sit back and relax.
Oh! And a little grocery store for essentials if you're needing anything.
Truly, I cannot sing Caffi JoJo's praises enough. I visit myself as often as I can.
How about YOU? Why not make a stop when you're travelling through Llanbrynmair next time? I promise, you will not regret...
Read moreI live locally and regularly visit Jo Jo's, it's a lovely cafe, Jo and her team work very hard indeed to please people. She makes an awesome Latte. The food is always good and her paninis are divine. You will always get a cheery hello and a smile from the staff. I'm not sure about Tim & Kelly Power's remarks, seems to me very vindictive to both post disparaging reviews about a shared experience, alas it happens far too often on these sites. In Jo's defence it clearly says on the door, no dogs inside, and they're obviously not a very observant couple, the coffee machine is big and in full view behind the counter, you can't really miss it, also same with the play area on the left as you go in, again it's huge. Jo has a Welsh Cheddar ploughman's on her menu, that's what it is. Why would you expect...
Read moreAn overdue review as the visits were both in August last year. We normally stop here on our annual summer trip up to my partner's family in North Wales, with another stop on the way back, and as always the quality of the food was fantastic. As, like everyone else, we didn't make the journey in 2020, we were surprised that the wooden mechanical toys and the bunnies had gone, but they were always an added bonus anyway. (I'm guessing that interactive toys weren't exactly covid-friendly). Besides, that didn't prevent us from making a stop for another very enjoyable meal on the return journey. We're hopefully travelling up to North Wales again in the next few weeks and as ever, we'll be stopping off in both directions...
