Oh my goodness. We are staying in a beautiful converted barn in Brynsiencyn and decided to venture up to Y Groeslon it’s local pub last night. Well all we can say is the landlady and her daughter in law plus her granddaughter were the most wonderful people we have ever met.

The pub was cosy and warm and the locals welcomed us with open arms. I’m born Welsh and my husband is a southerner but that never phased them they were all so welcoming.

My husband Andy ordered a 14” meat feast sour dough pizza and it was loaded and lovely.

I had the gammon steak but don’t like peas, pineapple or an egg with it. I asked if I could have baked beans and they said nothing was of any trouble to amend. This came with chips but you could of even had a jacket spud or salad if you wanted.

We drank gorgeous pinot Grigio and Guinness.

I’m rusty on my Welsh so they were determined to speak to me in it and I was so so pleased they did. Even to the end they said Pob Lwc.

We just couldn’t fault here. Lovely owners and family. Welcoming hospitality. Excellent and ambient atmosphere and fabulous reasonably priced food.

Not a huge menu but enough to enjoy. We didn’t opt of starters and desserts as not big eaters. They even boxed up for us our pizza and my lovely gammon as just too huge and we ate for breakfast this morning.

All in all without a shadow of a doubt we will eat here again. Thank you so much for everything....

The staff here are absolutely wonderful! We had pulled up in the adjacent car park aware that my car washer bottle had become empty, and after ordering two delicious cakes and hot chocolates, I asked one of the ladies on duty if it would be possible to borrow a measuring jug from the kitchen so I could top up my windscreen washer bottle. Both she and her colleague went way above my expectations (I was half-expecting a no because of the risk of COVID-19 contamination sharing the utensil), and came out with a bottle of washer fluid itself, saying to help myself but please bring the bottle back! Such lovely ladies! Thank you so much for coming to the rescue, and thank you for our delicious mid-afternoon snacks (and even with background music listening to a local band practising in the...

After reading all the great reviews we thought we would give this pub a try. First impressions was it was nice and clean and lady at bar was polite and a good selection of drinks. We ordered some food from the menu which to our horror was very disappointing. I ordered fish and chips expecting a fresh battered fish with home cooked chips but got food cooked straight from the freezer compartment and my wife's pizza was exactly the same. I wouldn't even cook this stuff at home let alone go out and pay for a meal like this. Real shame as everything else seemed to be OK and could be really enjoyable if better...

Stopped here on our way back to our holiday accommodation over the Menai, after a tour round Anglesey in the car. Got there 5 mins before food service time was to end, felt a little bad but the nice chap behind the bar was fine with us ordering food (I'm guessing the owner). The food was delicious, well needed and we both cleared our plates (I was hoping to get a piece of the Mrs's Scampi) My Gammon was amazing, such a large steak, and cooked perfectly with crispy rind 😋👌 Many thanks would love to visit again when in the area.
