Beautiful old pub with so much character. We have visited twice on one day. First early afternoon coffee and cheeky drink before checking in to our accommodation and then in the evening for a dinner. Both visits were great and definitely memorable. Service was spot on, we've been looked after from the beginning. Great selection of drinks and very reasonable prices. Food is very good, freshly made by the owner, generous portions, great selection and again good prices. Pub was very busy in the evening, local residents and tourist, but no one was send away, owners found the spaces for everyone. every single person was fed and watered :) Fireplace was on full swing, warm and cosy. I'm sure we will come back next time we're in the area. Thank you for your hospitality :)

Stayed with my family in Dolwyddelan. A local recommended we try the pub, especially the Thai Wednesday food. We decided to book and we were blown away. The chef and wife of the owner cooked some of the best Thai food I've ever had. Pictured is the Thai Holy Basil which was so tasty, we also ordered the Pad Tai, Chicken Satay and Green curry. The latter was a high point, best Green curry I've had o think. Very well priced and the regulars are very welcoming.

We stayed over for a few nights and it was delightful. Rooms were clean, compact yet well equipped. Food was lovely. The breakfast hearty, evening standard pub grub was warming after a long day out ambling the countryside. The Thai night, absolutely delicious! The bar area is warm and atmospheric with the lovely fire. Locals and staff are friendy. And the owners are attentive. Book a table to avoid disappointment. All in all a lovely stay. Would recommend

Came here for dinner on the off chance there would be availability since we couldn’t get through to book on the phone. We arrived and were told it would be a 40 min wait for food, since 1 table of 4 has ordered before us
We got drinks to pass the time, served with sparing ice but fine all the same.

Fortunately the food arrived in under 30 mins, but unfortunately it wasn’t up to the standard expected. The curry was ok, but looked very unappetising and the lasagne was clearly reheated under a grill and looked past its best. Portion sizes however were decent.

Coming from a small village, it’s obviously valued for its charm and authenticity but I wouldn’t recommend it as a regular stop. Probs won’t...

Stayed here for 1 night when visiting Zip world Llechwedd, only 8 mins drive away. Lovely friendly welcome from the landlady. Was very pleasantly surprised how nice the pub and rooms were. Stayed in room 2 which spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom. All looked freshly decorated. Kettle & tea\coffee provided along with biscuits and bottled water & orange juice. We ate on a Wednesday which is Thai only night. No other food available on this particular night but I didn't mind, the rest of the week there is. The best Pad Thai I've ever had. My son had chicken goujons chips & peas which the landlady prepared even though not on the menu. Would definitely recommend staying and trying the...
