We have since visited 7/6/23 and not recognised we bought a couple of pints and water for the 3 Sacs and Jack Russel. Glad their opened the inside but still didn’t feel welcome and never received our pint! So why the one star you may ask? Why just one! Well me and my friend and 4 dogs wanted to watch the welsh game as living in wales and owning a home close to this pub we thought we would be welcome. At this point can I make clear that we’re both non welsh speakers but we do try are best and live in wales! We arrived 2 hours before the game and it was explained that they were full if you hadn’t booked but they would do their best. There was one table I noticed with no name on it so one would assume it wasn’t taken. We sat and drank for a while noticing everyone who had a welsh shirt on went in to watch and under 18s were also welcomed. I wore my hidden disability lanyard but I don’t think they knew what it meant. 5 mins before kick off I saw two young men enter and sit at this table! I asked if there were tables free and told no! Not yet. Although now a name was on the table. This rattled me a lot as if that table was free earlier then why couldn’t we have booked it! I feel their is definitely racisim differences going on and preference to yokels. That’s all well and good but as we visit our home just one mile away all year around maybe more consideration should be made and not presumed we’re ENGLISH! I’m not sure if we will go back. It wasn’t all doom and gloom after making the management team aware of our unhappiness a table was found and we cheered on our home team wales and the beer was excellent. Please train you’re staff on hidden disability. The lanyard is green in colour with sunflowers on it. Often with a card explaining exception of wearing a mask. Because of this I’m giving a one star. MAYBE AND IT IS A MAYBE if we go again we will not feel discriminated against as non...
Read moreCame here for dinner on a weekend and there are three (surprise 4!) parts to my review: The Good: All the ladies working here were so lovely and provided great service even though it was busy and the food took a bit longer to come out. The Lamb was a highlight too which my partner had. The Bad: Making a steak Rare is easy, you barely cook it. Making a steak Well Done is also easy, you just cook it completely. But making a steak Medium really shows how good the chef is. Unfortunately my Medium steak was 95% Well Done with some minor parts slightly pink, I don't personally like to send food back even though this was offered as we knew the table was needed for the next booking and the first steak took a while to arrive. The Ugly: I am normally quite pragmatic and understanding but this steak was sooo chewy and soo cooked to hell and back that I couldn't break it down with my teeth, I actually almost choked as the steak simply wouldn't break up in my mouth (apologies to anyone who saw me fish it out of my mouth). This was supposed to a nice meal but it was completely ruined by just not being able to cook a steak correctly. The Really Ugly: See...
