I hadn't been to The Tiltyard for years and with Mrs J away for a couple of nights, it was time to revisit. I'd seen that there were new chefs there so that was the pull. And I certainly was not disappointed! Very, very good food, tasty and cooked spot on. The main menu has good choices and isn't too big and there's the specials board, which I chose from. Probably made a mistake in that I ordered 2 mains (not sure if the Masala spiced bao bun was a small plate or main; my fault, should've asked) but so glad I did as it was a chance to try both. Will definitely be back to eat there again. Congrats to the kitchen! One thing if you visit ... look past the time warp of the Lounge. I'm knocking on a bit in age and it reminded me of pub lounges of the 80s and 90s. But this is a neighbourhood pub, not a restaurant, and you know what, I felt comfortable and relaxed. A cosy environment and damn good food ... suits me!

This pub was a real treat! Service was really polite, the food was next level and you could tell it was made with a lot of thought and care. I'm not from the area but I will be back on a year for an event and will certainly be planning a trip to this pub once again. Highly recommended. I got lucky with a table and the staff very kindly slotted me in. I would recommend booking to avoid disappointment as it was quite busy

We passed by this Tuesday evening and had a drink and an amazing curry. Well worth a visit. Lovely bar staff, great food and a relaxed atmosphere.

Visited for carvery lunch on a Sunday. Booked in advance which is advisable as seems to get busy. Carvery meats were Turkey, ham and beef on day of visit. Veg available included green beans, peas, cauliflower cheese, carrots, mash, red cabbage, roast potatoes and roast parsnips. Yorkshire puddings and mini sausages available alongside cranberry jelly and a big heated bowl of gravy. £6.95 for small serving, plenty for an adult. £9.95 for large serving with unlimited veg. No kids sizes less than the small already stated. Food was overall good, though I didn't enjoy the red cabbage. Puddings were £3.95 each, options on day of visit were cheesecake, Eton mess, syrup sponge, profiterole, chocolate brownie. Brownie and profiteroles were very tasty. Staff were friendly and polite. Toilets clean. Not the most desirable of settings but a fairly good lunch especially for the very reasonable price. Don't forget to like...

Popped in here last night with my wife and my mother-in-law and my very patient and loyal guide dog. The food we had was excellent. My wife had the chicken burger, I had the hunters chicken and my mother-in-law had the rump steak. All meals were brilliant and delicious could not fault any of the food at all.Don’t even get me started on the syrup and custard pudding Yum Yum Yum. We also like the fact that the table was nice and clean and the lady that served us was very polite and welcoming. Would highly recommend this place for food and would...
