Pusanon — Restaurant in Wealden

I don't normally review restaurants in fact this is the only review i've ever left, but thought it was important that i did on this occasion. I for one don't take a lot of notice when i see a bad review as you always get someone that's unhappy at some stage but trust me when i say that this is an honest review.. I have eaten thai food in many places in the uk and especially in Thailand. I live in Tunbridge wells and i eat in Kai's Kitchen, it's the only decent place for thai food but currently shut due to flooding... My favourite cuisine is Thai.. but this place is truely awful.. the food is not authentic, the waitresses are malaysian and didn't know the dishes i was trying to order, i wanted papaya salad which is a very popular dish but they had no idea what i was talking about.. the thai basil chicken was not holy basil it was sweet basil bought from a local supermarket i guess. the thai red curry tasted sooooo bland. The sticky rice was like normal boiled rice and the only decent thing we were given was the chang beer. Terribly disappointed and honestly not a thai restaurant. We are camping and for my wife's birthday, I decided to take her to the Pusanon Thai restaurant. She has never had genuine Thai food before, and was a little sceptical. After the first bite, she asked where is our nearest Thai restaurant. The food was amazing, just how I remember it from Chang-Mai. The staff were as happy, polite and friendly as I remember Thai's are. This was our first time trying this Thai restaurant in Crowborough and we will certainly be returning. We had spring rolls and fried squid for starter, which was very well presented and delicious.

For main we had duck and beef curry with jasmine rise.

It was a bit quiet but only to expected for a Wednesday evening. Service was perfect.
