The batter is horrendous

This shop is ideal if you’re just after a portion of chips and a curry sauce, no faults with that. But the Haddock I had and battered sausage was awful, it was like a flat chewy skin, not crispy and fluffy. Normally batter goes fluffy and crispy when it’s fried but this was like deep fried cycling shorts unfortunately. The fish was very dry too but sausage had good flavour.

The size of portion for sausage and fish was reasonably good for the price but the batter made me leave most of it in the bin.

I’d like to think this is just a bad day as the two blokes running it were nice, however I won’t be...

Not so good the cooking fat is too thick in its consistency therefore gives a tough Batter - the fish was a bit dry and the portions were too big . Could well think aout OAP 's ability to eat large proportions and they should be trimmed down to a far better value for money. Not everyone wants large proportions of chips as they go cold very quickly and then go mushy, so just consider the whole cooking approach . There is one chippy in Eastbourne who excels way above the rest and their fat and batter is delicious so we are reluctant to repeat our custom which...

We went here this evening and must say 1st we've ever been as living in Hailsham high street you don't go out of your comfort zone. But honestly do. The food is like the name quality but not just that the people are to. My girlfriend asked on the off-chance if they had any fish scraps as any one would no with pets (cats) eating fish you have to share. The people gave us loads. The cats will eat better than us the rest of the week. So thank you. Lovely food loverly people worth more...
