Came here for a late lunch after a walk on the Cuckoo Trail. It doesn't look much from the outside, but what a wonderful place once you cross the threshold! The food was great - real home-cooked pub grub, but of a much higher quality than you might expect; we had a superbly cooked Sea Bream, a vegetarian tart (cooked to order - with changes requested by one of our fussier eaters), and two yummy pies - one game, the other steak and Stilton. Read moreWas looking for a pub with a garden suitable for kids and stumbled across this pub on google. We was not disappointed!
They have setup the garden so well, with a large park structure for kids, along with TV, table tennis, giant chess and pool tables outside- it’s a families dream! Varied seating such as bench seats, patio tables and even enclosed pods.
The food was generous portions for reasonable prices and the two young lads doing all the waiting Saturday were tremendous!! Tentative, very quick to clear plates and friendly.
Be good if food options included sandwiches/ciabattas or something.
This pub just made its way to No1...
