Mixed review today, we both had the 50/50 burger, honestly felt like they had tried to add so many things that it didn't really work for me, also arrived with herby chips, not my cup of tea at all, hubby liked the chips but we both agreed didn't go with any flavours of the burger. I did mention this to the chef as we went to pay and he said had we mentioned this they would have made us up somr fresh chips, which was nice but we weren't once asked if everything was ok with our meal. Chef tried to take my feedback well but got slightly defensive stating I was the first person to dislike it in 3 years but couldn't help and think we were the only ones in the pub on a Saturday lunchtime over a bank holiday, maybe others are just voting with their feet 🤷

We decided to try here for a Sunday roast after reading good reviews. I must admit when we drove into the car park, it wasn't a good view. However as soon as you step through the door what a delight. A lovely greeting as well entered, a lovely layout and a great choice of food. We ordered our drinks & food and we were not disappointed. This was a truly great traditional roast. I had the brisket of beef and it was melt in the mouth. Plenty of roast potatoes, a good range of vegetables & loads of gravy in a pouring jug. The chef even came out to talk to us and asked our thoughts. This was a truly great experience. Very highly recommended.

Really nice place, stayed for a few days. Rooms are above the bar with there own access. Food and prices are good and staff are super friendly. Chef comes out to check the food is ok. They make a special 50/50 burger I took my pic to late to use as I had eaten 2/3s 😄. Some really nice walks near by. The wild horses had babies when we was there end of May.

My wife found this pub as we are staying in Tavistock for our holiday. What a find it was. Set in a lovely village of Horrabridge this pub served up one of the best meals we have ever had. The staff upon arrival offered us either inside or outside seating we choose inside due to heat but the outside overlooking the pub looks great for next time. Our drink order was taken next and a good range of local ales and ciders to choose from along with a number of lovely wines. Then shown the meal which was on blackboard of all to see. Simple menu but with local produce and amazing cooking all looked and tasted great. I had the burger which came with large amount of chips and coleslaw along with smokey cheddar on top. My wife and son both had fish and chips and the fish was very large with large amount chips and salad which comes from owners garden. After all that meal we were unfortunately unable to have dessert to full but the options looked and sounded amazing. Would highly recommend visiting if only for a drink but you will regret not trying the food...

If you want a good nights sleep, DO NOT STOP HERE! I,m posting this after the gentlemen directly below my room, 1, in the pub kitchen, came in at 4am and decided to make as much noise as he could. At4:30 am after very load banging I had enough and went down stairs to see what all the banging was. He has a rolling pin out so I’m guessing he was opening walnuts?! Unbelevably, he had headphones on so didn’t have a clue how much noise he was making. When I told him he’d awoken me at 4am he seemed nonplussed and said he had work to do! Just what I needed after a hard days work and a long drive today. The guy needs to realise you don’t treat paying guests like this……..he...
