The Kings Head in Tealby is an absolutely charming historic country pub situated in the small and beautiful village of Tealby, the building dates back to 1367 and boasts the title of the oldest thatched pub in Lincolnshire. I must say that it's been beautifully restored and has retained all of the character of a property this age while still offering all the modern comforts of plush seating and tables inside and large beer garden, seating outside plus good modern restrooms. It offers a very good range of beer's, wines and spirits. Another key feature for me is the restaurant which has an a really wide variety of starters, main courses, desserts plus a specials menu. I have eaten here a couple of times recently and have been really impressed with the quality of the food and the service that I have received. Well worth a visit if you find yourself in the area or for a special occasion. The wheelchair access is good. Credit cards payments are accepted here. They have a 4ππππ food hygiene rating. Food review May 2022. There's a lot choice in terms of food here but I settled for the pan fried duck off the specials board on this occasion, my meal arrived after a short wait and comprised of a perfectly cooked duck breast which was served pink while the skin had been rendered down to remove all the fat keeping it perfectly moist, and deliciousπ, it was accompanied with some delicious roasted potatoes which had been cooked in duck fat making them both crispy and delicious, some seared vegetables and a reduction of meat juices nicely seasoned with a hint of fresh orange juice , a really well presented, prepared and enjoyable meal in all. I paid Β£17.95...

I booked this as the menu and reviews looked good. The actual dining experience was far better than described in many reviews.
I will add a small caveat here, if there is one thing wrong with the Kings head it is detail. As you will read they get it so right so many times but kitchen and bookings do miss the ball on a few things. On arrival, my booking had been misplaced, but the team quickly sorted the booking and sorted us out with a table.
The menu is good, with the daily specials on each table.
Service was friendly, helpful, and attentive. There is the normal drinks order taken and soon after, the drinks are brought over. The main food to be ordered.
The food is manly of a very high quality and well presented. The portions are enormous. Especially any dessert you may have.
There is a good range of recommended beers and wines and the taps are clean. The beer is well poored.
This is a well-run pub/restaurant. Service is 5* food 5.( on a second Friday visit the food fell down slightly items were left under the hot lights a little to long down to 3.5)
It's a nice traditional pub, it's comfy, friendly and a great dining experience. It is busy, so my main recommendation, other than go and experience, is to book ahead.
Other than that, enjoy, but watch what they serve you. When busy, you might end up with a prawn cocktail rather than a prawn and salmon salad.
Well done the team at the...

We found this place in the britstops book, called ahead to make sure there was space for the campervan, arrived and parked in the designated area which was a gravel section in the trees away from the car park which looked good, parked up and opened the side door of the van, noticed a lady walking up and down the road on the other side of the trees staring, thought it was just a nosey local. We made our way over to the pub for dinner, as we were about to enter a man was walking out we stood outside the door for him to walk out, no thanks or acknowledgment from the man. We went in sat down and ordered our food, staff were ok but noticably nicer to the locals, the same rude man then walked back in and we overheard him talking about our campervan. We also noticed locals staring making us feel really uncomfortable, we left after our meal back to the van, a few moments later heard the same man along with his family talking about the camper being in the car park as he got in his blue BMW X5. Clearly we were a burden. After this we had a quiet night, woke up in the morning and noticed the same lady from the pub, assuming she is the landlady standing and staring at the camper, again made us feel very unwelcome. overall the locals really ruin this place for anyone to visit who isn't local, shame as the food was nice but would never...
