The Rose & Crown Pub and Carvery — Restaurant in West Lindsey

Went there last night for a quiet drink with my wife. The bar person (the licensencees son) had no idea how to operate the till and had to ask his mother twice how to register my payments. I paid for two rounds of drinks initially. As we left to come home we were chased out by the licensee asking if we had paid for our drinks ! Firstly- communication between bar staff had failed miserably and secondly and far more importantly - how dare the licensee doubt my honesty and integrity ? A great place to eat and the Carvery is particularly good and well attended. Its very popular with the villagers and it gets really busy so its a good odea to book a table. Both Jenny and Lawrence, the owners, are welcoming and friendly plus if its just a beer you want then theres a great beer garden and a good variety of beers to choose from. Was a bit disappointed with the food for the price paid. Ordered a Carvery and most of the vegetables were dry and hard, not a large selection. Also no vegetarian alternative to meats or gravy from the look of it. Price for the meal was a lot more than what it was worth.
