The waitress was very friendly and chatty. The starters were fine, they were the best bit of the food we ate. Then we had the mains and two of our party chose the beef burger. I can honestly say it was the worst burger I have ever eaten. It was like someone had taken a cheap beef burger, had grilled it for far too long till it was chard and then had put it away for few days and had decided to microwave it for our dinner. Read moreWe walked into this charming little bar last Saturday afternoon to find a warming fire brightly burning in the woodburner. Great start as it was a bright but freezing day. Beautifully and tastefully decorated pub and the lady who runs it friendly and chatty. Good menu to cover all tastes. My husband is vegan and I'm vegetarian - not a problem. Had a delicious sandwich with fresh, seeded bread and skin on fries. My husband was able to have a zero alcohol Guiness, his favourite and we werre amazed to see zero wine and gin on the drinks menu too. That doesn't often happen! We also viewed one of the newly built cabins behind the pub. Very cosy and tastefully done with a double bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette area in each. We were delighted and charmed to discover the Beehive and can't wait to return for dinner and...
Read moreWe spent the evening at The Beehive this week, enjoying both a gourmet taster menu created by some fantastic visiting chefs and an overnight stay in one of their brand new 'hives'. Our dinner was tasty and well executed, particular highlights were the white asparagus starter and the venison with plum compote- delicious and washed down with a great selection of wine and beer!
The brand new accommodation is 5 star. Tastefully decorated with a superbly comfortable bed, well appointed bathroom and everything you might need for a short or longer break.
Caroline and Simon were superb and welcoming hosts, ensuring we had everything we needed and more....
