Bella Italia - Center Parcs Elveden Forest — Restaurant in West Suffolk

I used to really enjoy Bella Italia at Center Parcs, even though I dislike chain restaurants that serve mass produced pinged stuff, Bella Italia was always just about acceptable as there was always a decent pasta dish or 2 on the menu (wouldn't touch the pizzas with a barge pole though). Our latest visit though has changed my mind. The portions are now TINY and the prices have risen considerably. The value for money is laughably non existant. My sons pizza was as big as a saucer and looked like something you see in the freezer section of a supermarket in a box of 8 marketed as microwave snacks. No starters, no deserts, £115 for 2 adults & 2 kids lol. Also, CP supplement staff wages by automatically adding a 7.5% service charge to your eye-watering bills throughout the park now which you're not tight enough to ask to be removed, which CP know full well! Fully expect the service charge to be 15% next year, clearly they're just warming us up for it!

Shout out to our lovely waitress Paula though, if there wasn't an enforced 7.5% service charge/across the board salary supplement on the bill, we wouldve left Paula at least 10% for her great service and...

Was welcomed and seated by front of house staff member, wasn't told waiters name. Waiter came to take drinks order straight away didn’t introduce themselves drinks arrived swiftly. Waiter came back and took order - ordered a sharing starer and main each. Food came prompt both times. Ordered two calzones one meat one vegetarian and a portion of normal chips and sweet potato chips, dough around the edge of calzones didn't seem cooked thoroughly on the meat calzone but crust was left anyway, lots of toppings in both. Waiter didn't come and check if everything was ok or if anymore drinks were needed part way through meal which as rather disappointing. Front of house staff then came to take our plates away once we had finished. Waiter then came and asked if we wanted any coffees or desserts which we declined as we were full, waiter then promptly went and got our bill, service charge was £6.60 (7.5%) we asked to have this removed as didn't feel this was worth it - waiter seemed offish when we asked then came back with new bill we then paid the amount and waiter then walked off. All in all not very pleased with service but...

I don't get the reviews in here and I'll go with: people don't know anything about food in general? This place has nothing to do with italian food. Absolutely zero italian vibes on the plate. I felt like I was eating pretend italian food. Just to mention, this was Sherwood Forest Center Parc. Carbonara with cheddar and no taste at all... and I think they used ham?!!! Pizza was blank, the dough seemed like the frozen cheap one. Sea bass, small plate, no taste at all. The food has no taste. All the pasta dishes looked like they were from a bag and went into the microwave. Expensive. No taste at all. The waiter added extra portions on our bill (by accident), but not even saying it was by accident. It was just "ah, ok, let me solve this" and all of the sudden the bill went down with 15£.... Everything was a waste of money, but the food tasteless. Or..let's say, it was ok if one dish was prices somewhere around 4£ each, instead of 18£. Bella Italia...
