Wanted a quick meal while we were in the area waiting for our dog to have his groom. Googled places and the flying shuttle popped up and looked great so we headed straight there. Didn’t have a booking but were seated straight away. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Drinks order was taken quickly and food order was taken when drinks arrived. Lots of yummy food choices, especially on the kids menu which is rarer and rarer these days. Food came out really well presented and hot. Food was amazing! So flavourful. We had the lamb rump and pie duo, chicken, ham and leek pie and kids mac and cheese. Didn’t have room for pudding. Really good value for money. Only negatives was that we had no option to leave tip on card and didn’t have cash so I felt really bad for not leaving a tip for our server. Also one of the locks is broken on a cubicle in the ladies toilets. 100% will be returning! Thank you

Food took almost an hour from when we arrived as it took the waitress 30mins just to take our order. We tried ordering at the bar only to be told she was just about to come over, she then took the order of table next to us and ignored us again for 10mins. We were trying to just have a quick bite. When food did arrive (No apology for the wait) the salted caramel wings tasted only of thyme and were not crispy at all. The burgers were meant to come with coleslaw which the server went to collect for us and then never came back, my burger was listed as having bacon and cheese, and a side of sauce - only cheese was in the burger. No one came to check to see if the food was ok and then when I complained at the end no apology was made and the discretionary 20% off the bill for the error on the burger did not even cover the soft drinks we had. Won't be coming here again, would not reccommend.

My wife and I visited the Flying Shuttle in Haverhill on the afternoon of Monday 4 December 2023. When nobody bothered to attend to us I asked a member of staff who was busy on his laptop at one of the tables, if we could have some service he hardly bothered to acknowledge me and grudgingly got up at his pace and fetched menus which he just put down on our table and then just returned to his laptop without a word. With that we left in disgust and disbelief. The unhelpful and rude member of staff was average height with dark hair, beard and wearing glasses. We are both in our eighties and we have never walked out in disgust before. I hasten to add that the restaurant was not busy. Yours very disappointed and dissatisfied. šŸ˜”šŸ˜– Mr David A Gouldsmith

We were a Party of 8 (2 were children aged 10 and 6). Our table was booked at 5.45. We sat at Table 24. Our Experience was not up to the standard which we have experienced in the past. We were shown to our table straight away. We were offered Menu's and then had a considerable wait until someone came to ask if we wanted drinks. We ordered these but there was obviously some confusion over 2 Cordials (or squash) that was ordered as we had expected a Blackcurrant one but a lime was brought to the table. The waitress who took the order initially told the young lady who had bought the drinks over that it was wrong and then there seemed to be some bickering between the 2 members of staff as to who was right and who was wrong! The right cordial was given. The young lady from the Bar was clearly in a miserable mood! We also ordered "Diet coke" but was served "Pepsi max" - not being asked if this was an OK alternative. We also wonder if the lines have been cleaned on the Pepsi Machine in a while as both parties who had these drinks complained of stomach pains/upsets later in evening...

We chose our food and on ordering were then told certain choices were unavailable!!! - It would have been better to be made aware of this straight away when we were given our menus so we didn't have to make alternative choices. Food arrived. All hot and presented well but on hindsight I think the kitchen must have run out of peas as 2 orders of Hunters Chicken came with sliced cherry tomatoes instead There was only a small portion of peas with the child's portion of what we thought was Fish Goujons but clearly were Fishfingers!!! - The Surf & Turf came with a large cooked Mushroom which was described by my Husband as tasting like chip fat! - and therefore Inedible. The Cheese on the Hunters Chicken was dried as if kept warm for a while. Disappointing as we had both had this dish previously and it was lovely last time. A second order of drinks were made which took a long time. My White Wine Spritzer wasn't the same wine as the 1st one I ordered so 2 different wines were used. We ordered Desserts - again we were not told which dishes were unavailable so we had to then reorder - It would have been better to be made aware of what had sold out. Very Disappointed to only get what can be described as an Egg Cup of Custard with The Crumble! Last time it was presented in a small jug. It felt like corners were being cut and we are now questioning if we will return for our Family Christmas Gathering or other celebrations in the future. All in all -...

I had a booking for 11 people for the festive menu, table was booked for 1pm and I had pre ordered meal choices by email. It took approx 15 mins until we had a drinks order taken, our starters came out at about 1.30pm. After finishing starters and sitting with dirty plates in front of us for some time I decided to stack them at the end of our table while waiting for them to be collected. After a while I went up to a member of staff to complain about the extremely slow service, only to be told that they were short staffed and they was sorry for the delay between courses. We were served our main course after what seemed like a long time from finishing our starters, we were not offered cranberry sauce with our Turkey dinner and on checking the online menu it clearly stated that the Turkey dinner came with cranberry sauce but as all were eating our dinners we did not go and ask for any. After our main course was finished and we were again waiting for our dessert one of our party had to leave at 2.50 as they had an appointment at 3pm, so it had taken 1hour and fifty minutes to be served two courses. Anyway I did complain as we went to pay as I and other people in our party had been dissatisfied with the service in all ways possible. I spoke to the manager who said he was sorry for the service and would have a word with his staff whome he said had worked with him for quite a while and he could not understand what had gone so wrong on this occasion, we also said that we had not been offered cranberry sauce and his reply was to save wastage they serve it if it was asked for, he also stated that the delay was because they cook everything from fresh, unfortunately it didn't appear that way. I told him I expected some kind of discount off our bill as I had complained at the beginning of our meal about the service so he gave us 20%Off I know that he would not have done this had I not said that it was the least I expected as our experience there was not of the standard that I expected I also said I would not be returning again. On our return home and going through the bill again they charged us for a dessert that we did not have as one of our party did not have dessert as they had to leave for their appointment. I have never given a bad review before but this was...

I visited your establishment on the 25th of September at approximately 3 pm.

This is my fourth visit in as many weeks and was a disappointing experience.

My companion and I ordered some drinks at the bar, indicated to the barman that we would like to sit at table 19 and asked for some menus so we could order food.

Menus were provided which were literally falling apart and having made our selection we waited patiently for someone to come and take our food order. After waiting what seemed like a lifetime, but was probably only 15 minutes, I approached the bar and asked if someone could come and take our food order.

I was told that table 19 was considered to be the ā€œbar areaā€ and as such food orders must be placed at the bar by the diner.

There was absolutely no indication that certain tables do not benefit from waitress service. My suggestion would be that this information is displayed prominently either on the relevant tables or in the area where this condition applies.

The pastry on the steak and ale pie that I ordered was absolutely rock hard and when I attempted to cut into it, it fractured into large pieces which skated across the plate.

The long handle spoon presented to me to eat my chocolate Sundae was filthy. A replacement was provided which was only a slight improvement on its predecessor.

The gents toilet comprises two cubicles and the lock on the one furthest from the door is broken and has been since my first visit.

As mentioned above, this is my fourth visit and I am pleased to report that on my three previous visits the food and the service had been good. In fact, on my very first visit the food and service were so good that they precipitated my subsequent visits.

Based on my experience described above I am not planning a...
