We visited Miller & Carter for the first time to celebrate my birthday on a weekday afternoon. Neither of us has dined at any Miller & Carter before. Mainly because neither of us are big red meat eaters. We were greeted as soon as we entered and escorted to our table. After a minute or so, Sam, our waiter, arrived. What an asset Sam is to Miller and Carter. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. He made our experience so much better. As we don't eat much red meat, we decided to opt for The Steak Experience, namely the Butchers Block 25oz. Sam put my mind at rest over a couple of items in the Butchers Block, and we went with his recommendations that turned out to be a good choices. The fillet was absolutely delicious. However, we both thought the Ribeye and Rump were a little too tough, albeit they both tasted fine. We paid a little extra for the Daupinoise potatoes. It was well worth it. After we had finished our main meal, we were both feeling quite full. As it was my birthday, I opted for the mini dessert of salted caramel profiteroles and coffee (£6.50), and my partner had a coffee Latte (£4.25) with the Lemon Tart (£8.95). In our opinion and comparing the desserts quality and prices, it fell well short of other restaurants in the area. Even with two free drinks, our food bill came to £101.45. I enjoyed my birthday treat, and we are both glad we finally visited Miller & Carter.

Amazing food as always, Steak cooked to perfection. Very friendly service by the waitress and she made sure that we were well looked after. The only disappointment was our drinks. 1st - My wife ordered an Aperol spritz and was served half the portion of the actual drink. On checking with the bar tender he apologies for not getting the recipe right and correct his mistake. 2nd- I always love a Old fashion cocktail, on checking with the waitress if I could have an Old Fassion she said that they only do a Salted Caramel Old Fashion. I was happy with that. When the drink arrived I could tell the drink was not made how its should have been made. When tasted the drink, I could taste Salted caramel syrup at the bottom of the glass with ice and whisky on top, it was not even burbon whisky, Absolutely rip off, as the bar staff are not trained on cocktail and they dont follow correct recipe's. Went for a second drink to the bar to see how was my first drink made, I was told that they ran out of burbon whisky, so i was refused my second drink. Will definitely go back for the food but will make sure the cocktails that are served are worth the money the customers are expected to pay.

Miller & Carter - Lunch Review We recently visited Miller & Carter for lunch and had a very good experience overall. The steak was excellent—cooked perfectly, full of flavour, and beautifully presented, with sides and sauces that complemented the meal wonderfully. Our waiter was brilliant—attentive, friendly, and professional, ensuring we felt well looked after throughout. That said, there were a few issues that could be improved. The lunch service was slower than expected, especially considering it wasn’t overly busy, and for a lunchtime meal, the pricing felt a bit high. Additionally, I wouldn’t have ordered a starter if I’d known the lunch menu now includes a lettuce wedge with the steak, as part of their new offering. This change could have been explained better. The biggest disappointment was the crème brûlée. The top hadn’t been properly torched, and it was served cold, which let the dish down entirely. Overall, it was a good meal with some great highlights, but a few details need attention to make it a truly outstanding experience.

Very disappointing experience. Firstly, the starters arrive before ours drinks (only 2 cokes), we were then brought our lettuce wedges before the starter plates had been cleared which I thought odd but trusted they knew what they were doing. Another waitress then brought our main meals & tried serving them before the starters had been cleared I had to tell her they were there as she tried to put the plate on top. 2 waitresses failed to notice the table hadn’t been cleared, this resulted in our mains going back under the heating lamps whilst the plates were clearer & fresh cutlery provided. There was then confusion over drinks & 2 empty glasses where left on the table the remainder of the meal. My steak was unfortunately cooked well done instead of medium rare but no one came to ask how the food was so after all the other fuss I chose to just eat it. Staff management is very poor, the gentleman serving us had too many jobs, taking orders, clearing plates, getting drinks from the bar, taking payments & setting tables. All whilst 4 girls were stood round chatting waiting for food to be ready to serve. More support is definitely needed from the management to make sure jobs are distributed evenly for a more effective service. All felt very rushed, starters & mains served in the space of 40 minutes from arrival, would expect a much more relaxed atmosphere from a high end restaurant. First time we have ever left without leaving a tip which is very disappointing for us. Will be going to the Parbold Miller & Carter in future as this has much higher standards &...
