This is exactly what you want in a Biker's cafe. It's in the middle of nowhere surrounded by great biking roads including the famous Alton road. Be warned that the Police are always out in force including unmarked bikes and a regular speed camera van. Just don't bother speeding to excess - you'll get caught. Food is good, basic fry ups. They do other stuff apparently but I don't know what. Who doesn't get a full English? It can get very busy on a Sunday morning with the queue for food out the door sometimes. The car park is also packed on a Sunday and always has some interesting bikes to gawp at.
I broke down at breakfast there recently on a really hot day and they were generous while I waited literally all day for the RAC to pick me up (8.5 hours). They even came out and gave me free water bottles when it closed and I was still waiting (and waiting). Huge thanks for that....
Read moreI've been a couple of times in the last year, which is no small achievement as it's about 120 miles to travel. I'd heard about the famous Loomies so had to find out what all the fuss was about. I can't say anything bad about it, it is what it claims to be - a biker hang out with cafe/restaurant. It has a large car park and does get very busy at times. The first time I visited it was absolutely rammed with people. When I called in yesterday it was much quieter - but then lunch time on a Monday you'd expect it to be. Staff are friendly, certainly no issue there. The food is ok, not amazing but perfectly adequate for hungry bikers and prices reflect the quality. The vibe inside feels quite Wimpy and if it were my place I think I'd have to give it a do-over. If you're in the area then definitely worth a visit but in my humble opinion - for what it's worth - the hype...
Read moreUsed to be a regular haunt for me on the bike. However echo the other reviews in that it had become way too overcrowded on Wednesday (bike night) and weekends, often being unable to leave due to being blocked in. I'd also strongly recommend not using the car park as I've witnessed a couple incidents where bikes have been knocked over by people driving idioticallly in the car park.
The food is not great especially since the owners changed over last year, and there are long waits at peak times.
The roads in any direction are great, I'd strongly recommend a visit, but avoid peak times if you want to buy food. Outside of peak times then I'd 100% highly recommend the place as a destination. If you still want to go at peak times then there is a lay bay opposite you can park in plus the pub and petrol station on the same road also sell hot food with...
