A Truly Disappointing Visit to The Orangery at Garsons My recent visit to The Orangery at Garsons for a coffee and cake break while shopping was unfortunately a complete letdown. My wife and I were hoping for a pleasant refreshment, but what we received was far from it. The coffee was incredibly weak. My cappuccino was virtually tasteless, and my wife's latte was no better ā it literally looked and tasted like warm milk. When I politely complained, the staff informed me they only use a single shot and that an extra shot would cost an additional Ā£1. They did reluctantly provide us with a second order, but honestly, the coffee quality was so poor we still struggled to taste any actual coffee. To add to the disappointment, we were advised that for cake, we could only choose from the slices that were already cut, as the whole cakes were still defrosting. The idea of paying for previously frozen cake was unappealing, so we decided to skip it entirely. This experience genuinely made us question the overall quality offered at The Orangery. It's a shame, as Garsons is a well-known establishment, but The Orangery is doing them a disservice and frankly, ruining their reputation. On a brighter note, we've discovered a fantastic alternative: Alver Valley Garden Centre in Gosport. Their coffee is excellent, and they even have live music on Friday afternoons. We'll definitely be taking our business there...

We sat down chose food, my mother and I went to order wait 10mins in que (4people in front of us) no issue (my 75yr old dad and 2yr old son sat at table) we order all food and drink told 30min wait for food say OK, and I take drinks back to table as mother pays. She is told as her card is in the reader that they have no eggs so comes over to ask my father what he'd like instead and re chose for herself no more than 1min later she returns to the same lady at the till to be told she will have to re join the que which is now 8-10 people long! How can the fact that you had no eggs be our fault and have to que for I'm guessing at least if not far more than another 10mins for your mistake. I asked to speak to the manager at this point which was apparently the lady on the till she still was convinced we'd have to rejoin the back of the que as far as we were concerned we had placed our order and just needed to change 2 of the 4 meals due to your issue! When asked if she was happy to lose 4 customers she shrugged and said there's nothing else I can do. Absolutely disgusting customer service and feel sorry for the lovely...

When we had given the no and ordered we went to the table to find someone else had that table, embarrassing. My daughter found that it told you on the menu to find a table first. We were just having coffee so why would we need the menu. Wouldnāt it be more sensible to have a notice at the entrance of the restaurant. The staff are not particularly friendly and I know that these places are short staffed, but that doesnāt mean you canāt be pleasant. Iām going to Silver Springs next time which is just...
